Chemical Companies Investing the Most in Digitalization
Platinum magazine and Ipsos research firm unveiled the "Global 100" index in collaboration. According to the research, Aksa Akrilik, which ranked among companies investing most in digitalization, became the recipient of the Chemistry and Plastics Sector Digitalization Award.
The "Global 100" index, conducted in partnership between Platinum, one of the most widely read business magazines, and independent market research firm Ipsos, has been completed. Aksa Akrilik succeeded in entering the top 10 brands that stand out with digitalization investments in this year's research, which was conducted for the 3rd time. The company became the recipient of the Chemistry and Plastics Sector Digitalization Award at the Platinum Global 100 Awards, organized around the theme of "digitalization".
Aydın Fethi Baytan, Director of Human Resources and Corporate Development, accepted the award on behalf of Aksa Akrilik. Baytan, connecting to the award ceremony broadcast live on 24 TV the previous evening, said the following: "As Aksa Akrilik, in line with our vision of achieving the highest operational excellence in every area, we aim for full integration into conditions in the 'new normal'. Among our strategies are increasing our corporate digital capabilities and adapting next-generation technologies to our production models. Operating in Yalova since 1971, Aksa Akrilik operates across a production area spanning 502,000 square meters with more than 1,200 employees and an annual production capacity of 330,000 tons. The company holds the position of world leader with a 20% global market share and is Turkey's only acrylic fiber producer.
How is the Global 100 index determined?
The "Global 100", regularly announced annually since 2017, aims to support best practices of companies that contribute most to Turkey in international trade. The research, which involves firms traded on Borsa İstanbul, is conducted according to 13 criteria under 4 main headings: balance sheet data, prevalence and recognition, value-added production data and partnership structure.
