DenizBank Provides EUR 20 Million in Financing for Sustainable Agriculture and SMEs

DenizBank has secured EUR 20 million in financing through its cooperation with the European Fund for Southeast Europe (EFSE). The five-year facility will be used to promote the adoption of sustainable agricultural practices and support small businesses' access to finance.

DenizBank has provided EUR 20 million in financing under a cooperation agreement with the European Fund for Southeast Europe (EFSE). The five-year facility will be used to promote sustainable agricultural practices and support small enterprises' access to financing.

The financing, provided in accordance with EFSE's Green List criteria, aims to contribute to increased resource efficiency in agricultural production, more effective use of natural resources, and the adoption of sustainable production models.

At the same time, the financing is intended to support investment and growth processes of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), which are important drivers of the economy.

Sustainable Production and Resource Efficiency Front and Center
Bora Böcügöz, Deputy General Manager of Treasury and Financial Institutions at DenizBank, noted that productivity and sustainability are becoming increasingly critical in the agricultural sector, and that cooperations developed with international financial institutions are supporting this transformation.

Böcügöz stated in his assessment:
"As the leading private-sector bank in agriculture, we are prioritizing the widespread adoption of practices that will increase our producers' productivity, strengthen their capacity to adapt to changing conditions, and support more efficient use of resources. We believe that the financing provided through this cooperation with EFSE will contribute to the development of sustainable agricultural practices and strengthen small enterprises' access to financing."

Green Financing Supports Economic Transformation
DenizBank continues to bring long-term resources that support production, investment, and employment to the Turkish economy through cooperations developed with international development finance institutions.

The widespread adoption of sustainable financing instruments is important for reducing environmental impacts in the agricultural sector, using water and other natural resources more efficiently, and developing production models that adapt to climate change.

The new financing provided through the EFSE cooperation aims to contribute to the green transition process by supporting sustainable agricultural investments.
