Korean cosmetics (K-Beauty), with its innovative formulations and science-based skincare approach, continues its rise in the global cosmetics sector. South Korea's cosmetics exports grew 12.3% year-over-year to reach USD 11.43 billion in 2025, while skincare products accounted for the largest share of the sector with USD 8.54 billion in export volume.
This global market growth is contributing to increased demand for Korean cosmetics products in Turkey. Particularly with the influence of social media, K-pop culture and Korean dramas, young consumers' skincare habits are changing; content-focused, proven-effective and innovative products are coming to the forefront.
Data on the sector shows that South Korea's cosmetics market reached USD 8.42 billion in 2025, with skincare and sun protection products comprising approximately 47% of the market. Experts state that products strengthening the moisture barrier, functional active ingredients and multi-step skincare routines will be the key dynamics of growth in the coming years.
K-LAND Marketing Director Hande Akbaş Bilici noted that Korean cosmetics have evolved from being a passing trend to becoming an important category in the global beauty sector. Bilici stated that consumers are now focused not only on the brand, but on product ingredients, active components and their real effects on the skin.

Bilici also noted that interest is increasing in products containing niacinamide, ceramides, hyaluronic acid, peptides and fermented ingredients, adding that they aim to raise awareness in Turkey about proper skincare. She emphasized that personalized skincare products, formulas supporting skin barrier and the sun protection category will play an important role in market growth in the coming period.
