Sanovel Earns Right to Receive Equal Opportunity Model Certificate

Sanovel, one of the leading companies in the Turkish pharmaceutical sector, has crowned its approach to gender equality and related activities with the "Equal Opportunity Model" certification. Having successfully passed an independent assessment process covering all its procedures built around the principle of equality and inclusiveness—one of the key elements of its human resources strategy—the company has thus registered its practices aimed at strengthening women's position in the workplace.
Sanovel, a leading Turkish pharmaceutical company, has been awarded the 'Equal Opportunity Model' certification in recognition of its gender equality approach and activities in this field. The company, for which equality and inclusion principles form one of the most important elements of human resources strategy, successfully passed an independent assessment of all processes developed in accordance with these principles, thereby validating its practices aimed at strengthening women's participation in working life.
Advancing in line with sustainability, diversity and inclusion, and gender equality principles in business processes, Sanovel has earned the right to receive the 'Equal Opportunity Model' (FEM) Certificate. Developed by KAGİDER with World Bank technical support and in collaboration with PricewaterhouseCoopers and EY to encourage female employment, the certificate aims to identify inequalities in processes such as recruitment, training, career planning and development, and to end gender-based discriminatory practices in working life.
"Supporting women's workforce and strengthening women's representation in management should be among the priority goals of companies."
Sanovel CEO Hülya Yalın, noting that equality-based practices at the center of companies' strategies bring credibility not only to employer brands but also to our country, stated: "The equal participation of women and men in society with equal opportunities in a harmonious manner is one of the most important indicators of development. Supporting women's workforce and strengthening women's representation in management should be among the priority goals of companies.
At Sanovel, we aim to extend equality not only in recruitment processes but throughout the entire employee journey. Equality in access to development opportunities, career planning and promotion opportunities ranks among our most important principles. Within the framework of diversity and inclusion, protecting, developing and creating a healthy working environment for our company culture that embraces all differences is among our most important responsibilities," she said.
"The FEM Certificate is an important reflection of our equality-based approach."
Sanovel Human Resources and Corporate Communications Director Derya Oral, emphasizing that the success in the FEM certification process is an important reflection of Sanovel's equality-based approach, made the following comments: "At Sanovel, we work for a balanced and valued life. I believe that balance is one of the most basic requirements for a successful and peaceful work environment. Balance is a magical word that brings with it an equality-based approach and makes value emerge naturally, and it lies at the center of our approach. A balanced and valued life has the power to bring creativity, success, happiness and equality together.
It is particularly gratifying that in our organization, especially in departments where scientific workforce dominates, such as R&D and Quality, the proportion of women's labor is significant. As Sanovel, we will continue to implement practices that will develop the ecosystem we have created for greater participation of women in the workforce across all fields. Our company's 42-year-old established institutional culture, the importance it places on equal opportunity, diversity and inclusion have been proven once again through this prestigious certification program. We are delighted to have joined the FEM family. I wish for a world where women and men work shoulder to shoulder, supporting each other, and moving forward together for healthy tomorrows."
KAGİDER Board Member and Private Sector Relations Committee Leader Özlem Demirci Duyarlar: "Sanovel's qualification for the Equal Opportunity Model (FEM) Certificate is a strong indicator of its commitment and responsibility demonstrated on the issue of equal opportunity. As KAGİDER, we find it highly valuable that the private sector takes an active role in this transformation, and we warmly congratulate Sanovel for this meaningful step. The FEM Certificate is not merely a document; it is a symbol of institutions' concrete commitment to their journey of inclusion, justice and equality." she said.
KAGİDER Board Member and Private Sector Relations Committee Leader Av. Zeynep Yağmur: "Equal opportunity is a critical element not only for individuals but also for sustainable growth and institutional success. The private sector's prioritization of diversity and inclusion is key to building fairer and stronger structures in the business world. Sanovel's joining the FEM family will set an example in this transformation and inspire many other institutions," she stated.
