Nobel AFF Launches Biotechnology Push in Kazakhstan
Nobel AFF, the subsidiary of Ulkar Holding to which Turkey's international pharmaceutical company Nobel belongs, has added another facility to its strategic investments in Kazakhstan.
Nobel AFF, the sister company of Nobel focusing on strengthening its presence in the biotechnology pharmaceutical sector with its growing share in the pharmaceutical industry, has inaugurated its facility in Kazakhstan where biotechnology pharmaceuticals critical to breast cancer treatment will be manufactured.
The facility, which will achieve an important milestone in cancer treatment through the integration of the most advanced technologies in the pharmaceutical industry, will contribute to Nobel AFF's goal of becoming a significant player in biotechnology in Central Asia.
Nobel AFF, within Ulkar Holding which includes Nobel, Turkey's 100 percent domestically-owned international pharmaceutical company, is opening the doors to a new era in healthcare in Kazakhstan.
Nobel AFF has inaugurated the facility where it will manufacture 4 biotechnology pharmaceuticals developed by Swiss pharmaceutical giant Roche and vital to breast cancer treatment.
With the aim of facilitating access by breast cancer patients to innovative treatment methods, Nobel AFF inaugurated the facility, which was realized as a result of a business agreement between Kazakhstan Ministry of Health Institution SK-Pharmacia LLP, Kazakh Institute of Oncology and Radiology Research and Roche, by Kazakhstan Health Minister Akmaral Alnazarova.

Noting that this is not only an important milestone for Kazakhstan but also for the development journey of the Central Asian pharmaceutical sector, Nobel Pharmaceutical Board Vice Chairman and Nobel AFF General Manager Selçuk Tanrıverdi said:

With this goal, we defined biotechnology as a strategic priority in 2013 to develop and manufacture generic pharmaceuticals and active ingredients for different diseases. With our objective to be a pioneer in this field, we made Turkey's highest-capacity biotechnology raw material and manufacturing facility investment in 2019. We are now making this expansion regional through our cooperation with Roche in Kazakhstan. Within the scope of the agreement we signed with Roche last year for the production of pharmaceuticals for breast cancer treatment, we have made a significant investment in the facilities of our company Nobel AFF in Kazakhstan. This facility investment will establish Nobel as a hub for biotechnology pharmaceutical manufacturing in the region. In today's world where people face difficulties in accessing healthcare services, we will continue to support making innovative pharmaceuticals accessible in the geographies in which we operate."
