DELO Introduces New Adhesive for Smartphone Camera Assembly

DELO's new adhesive enables extremely fast assembly times in VCM production.
VCMs are very small motors with components that are only millimetres in size and are often made from temperature-sensitive materials. Their assembly entails many stringent temperature and quality requirements, so finding the right adhesive for creating these bonds is critical. DELO DUALBOND LT2221, launched by DELO, is a dual-cure adhesive distinguished by its low curing temperature of just 60 °C and represents a top-tier adhesive solution for many consumer electronics applications.
This low-viscosity adhesive can create very fine bond lines useful for bonding components as small as those in VCMs. With compression shear strength of up to 8 MPa on LCP, it is as versatile as it is strong an adhesive.
DELO DUALBOND LT2221 delivers extremely fast assembly times. When high-intensity DELOLUX curing lamps are used, it can be light-fixed in just 0.5 seconds, which represents a significant advantage considering the multiple bonding tasks in a VCM. To achieve final strength, all shaded areas can be thermally cured in a single step, for example within 90 minutes at 60 °C.
