Cenk Alper, CEO of Sabancı Holding, Becomes Only Turkish Executive on WBCSD Executive Committee

The annual General Assembly of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), one of the world's leading business platforms on sustainable development, has been held. During the General Assembly, the WBCSD's new Executive Board was also determined. Cenk Alper, CEO of Sabancı Holding, was appointed to the WBCSD Executive Board effective 1 January 2025. Alper thus became the sole Turkish executive on the new Executive Board.

Founded in 1995 and representing approximately 240 global companies today, the WBCSD focuses on strengthening companies' transformations in this field through collaborations while supporting sustainable development. Sabancı Holding continues to represent Turkish business on a global scale through its WBCSD membership, which it has held since October 2020.

As Sabancı Holding, when we joined the WBCSD in October 2020, we were the Council's only Turkish member at that time. This time, we are pleased to represent Turkish business in the Executive Board, which is responsible for overseeing the Council's strategy and monitoring the efficiency of the Council's activities. This role I have undertaken will be a very important support for our Community Promise, which we have put forward by saying 'We unite Turkey and the world with pioneering initiatives for sustainable living.'"
