Turkish Executive Appointed to Gilead's European Leadership

Gilead continues to transfer executives from Turkey to its global management team. In this context, Toros Şahin has been appointed as Director of Global Market Access Oncology Europe Region for Gilead.

In his new role, Şahin will be responsible for implementing global market access strategies aimed at increasing access to innovative oncology treatments in European markets.

The US-based biopharmaceutical company Gilead, which produces innovative treatments at a global scale in Turkey through local investments, continues to export executives from Turkey to the world. Toros Şahin, who has attracted attention through successful roles in Gilead's Turkey organization, has been appointed to Gilead's global management team. Starting his position as Director of Global Market Access Oncology Europe Region for Gilead in the United Kingdom as of end of June, Şahin will be responsible for implementing global market access strategies aimed at increasing access to innovative oncology treatments in European markets.

Toros Şahin joined Gilead 8.5 years ago as part of the Turkey Leadership Team in the role of Market Access Director. He subsequently took on responsibilities in Government Affairs and Corporate Affairs, making significant contributions to Gilead's strategic objectives in Turkey. Most recently, Şahin served as Acting General Manager of Gilead Turkey, during which time he played an active role in the company's interactions at both operational and political levels. Within the scope of his global responsibilities at Gilead, Şahin previously served as ICR Region Oncology and Global Strategic Projects Leader between 2021–2022, and as Government Affairs Leader for PrEP in the Middle East during 2024–2025. Before joining Gilead, Şahin worked as Market Access Director at Sanofi and has extensive experience in market access, public policy and corporate communications in the sector.
