DuPont Announces It Will Continue as an Independent Company
Following the successful separation of Corteva, Inc. (which operates in the agricultural sector) from its parent company, DuPont de Nemours, Inc. ("DuPont") announced on 3 June that it will continue as an independent company, delivering innovation through value-added specialized solutions that transform industries and daily life.
Formerly known as DowDuPont Inc., DuPont shares under the ticker symbol "DD" began trading on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) as of 3 June 2019.
DuPont Board Chairman Ed Breen stated: "The new DuPont is taking its first steps today in four core markets, with strong geographic diversity alongside customer and end-market diversity." Breen continued his remarks as follows:
"DuPont plans to be an engine of growth above GDP through disciplined innovation, relentless focus on return on invested capital, and best-in-class cost structure.
Alongside these priorities, DuPont will continue its commitment to creating value for shareholders through active portfolio management and capital return commitments."
DuPont Chief Executive Officer Marc Doyle said: "DuPont is in a unique position where it can be a market winner and create value for all stakeholders by leveraging its balanced portfolio, strong customer relationships, R&D expertise, and competitive operating model.
DuPont sets itself apart from competitors through its materials, ingredients, and solutions expertise. With these characteristics, it is well aligned with attractive and high-growth market trends, particularly in areas such as healthy living, worker and occupational safety, connectivity and mobility, and sustainable development.
Our customer-focused innovation efforts and value-added solutions play a transformative role in this regard." he said.
