BASF Türk Appoints Tolga Demirözü as New General Manager

Tolga Demirözü appointed to BASF Türk General Manager and Turkey-Azerbaijan Country Group Head positions. Tolga Demirözü, who worked in various positions at BASF Türk between 2008-2018, including as Operations Director, has been appointed General Manager of BASF Türk. Demirözü most recently served as Group Director of Corporate Ventures and New Business Areas at SOCAR. Demirözü took up his new position effective 1 May. Over 20 Years of Experience in Multiple Sectors Tolga Demirözü, appointed General Manager of BASF Türk, brings more than twenty years of experience in production, supply chain, sales and marketing, and management across the pharmaceutical, petrochemical, refining, and chemicals sectors in Turkish and international markets. In recent years, Demirözü has focused extensively on sustainable energy and transition to a low-carbon economy. Demirözü, who began his general management position effective 1 May, completed his undergraduate and graduate education in Chemical Engineering at Yıldız Technical University, following his studies at Kadıköy Anadolu High School. He began his career in the pharmaceutical industry in production, import and procurement, and continued in supply chain, planning, business excellence in international markets, and factory logistics management roles at Nestle Türkiye. BASF Türk Information Systems and Supply Chain Director and Operations Director At Deloitte Türkiye, Demirözü managed supply chain operations projects for consumer and manufacturing industries before joining BASF Türk in 2008 as a supply chain project consultant. Under the BASF Türk umbrella, he took on roles as Information Systems and Supply Chain Director, and subsequently as Operations Director. Tolga Demirözü continued his career in 2018 as Deputy General Manager of PETKİM and subsequently as Group Director of Corporate Ventures and New Business Areas at SOCAR. Demirözü was born in Istanbul in 1976, is married and has two children.
