Two Senior Appointments to Astellas Leadership Team

Two key appointments have been made at Astellas, a company operating in the healthcare sector. Nilay Tarr has been appointed General Manager of Astellas Turkey, while Nur Peker has been appointed Communication Leader responsible for Astellas Turkey, Middle East and Africa. 

Astellas, which operates with the vision of transforming innovative science into value for society to improve people's health and quality of life, has announced its new appointments. As of 1 February 2025, Nilay Tarr has been appointed General Manager of Astellas Turkey. Nur Peker has been appointed Communication Leader responsible for Astellas Turkey, Middle East and Africa. 

Nilay Tarr Appointed as General Manager of Turkey
Nilay Tarr, who holds a bachelor's degree from Istanbul University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and an MBA from London City University, has held various positions at companies including EastPharma, Sandoz/Novartis and Actavis. With 20 years of experience in the healthcare sector in Turkey, Russia, Ukraine, CIS and the Middle East, Nilay Tarr joined Astellas in 2016 as Market Access Director for Middle East and Africa based in Dubai.

She was subsequently appointed Senior Director of Business Operations covering the Middle East, Africa and Russia regions, where she provided strategic support and guidance in achieving Astellas's objectives. In 2020, Nilay Tarr joined the International Markets Leadership Team, leading a strategic globalisation project and achieving impressive results in key business areas in Russia. She also served as Interim General Manager of Astellas Ukraine. Since 2022, Nilay Tarr has been serving as General Manager of Astellas Egypt. 

Nur Peker Appointed as Communication Leader
After completing her education at Istanbul Işık High School, Nur Peker graduated from Istanbul University and began her career at Software AG Turkey as Public Relations and Marketing Specialist. With over 20 years of experience in the sector, Nur Peker served as Communication Manager at Siemens Business Services Turkey before joining Abdi İbrahim in 2003. She led the establishment of the communications department as Corporate Communication Director at the company.

Subsequently, Peker led communications departments at Sanovel, Sağra, Teva Turkey and Sandoz/Novartis respectively, with successful work in strategic communication, corporate identity management, leadership communication, crisis management, media relations and reputation management. Most recently, Nur Peker served as Corporate Communication Director responsible for Tetra Pak Turkey, Iran, Caucasus countries and Central Asia regions.
