Yıldız Technical University Presents Academic Achievement Awards

Yıldız Teknik Üniversitesi Presents Academic Achievement Awards Academic Awards Ceremony held at YTÜ Davutpaşa Campus Congress and Culture Center. At the ceremony, which was well-attended, awards were presented to academics who ranked among the top performers following the evaluation process. Following evaluations conducted in 2021 based on scoring criteria within the framework of "Research Capacity, Quality, Interaction and Cooperation," a total of 584 academics were awarded at the Academic Awards Ceremony, including the top 5-ranked Faculties and Departments, top 10-ranked Professors, Associate Professors, Assistant Professors, Research Assistants, Teaching Assistants, recipients of TÜBA GEBİP awards, those with approved projects, patent registrations, business founders, and those who have published.

Academic Achievement Awards Presented to Academics

The ceremony, held on 23 March at YTÜ Davutpaşa Campus Congress and Culture Center, was attended by Rector Prof. Dr. Tamer Yılmaz, Vice Rectors, Deans, Institute Directors, Vice Deans, Vice Institute Directors, General Secretary, Department Heads, and academic staff and officers. Research conducted in 2021 under Yıldız Teknik Üniversitesi (YTÜ) that has contributed to universal science was evaluated, and Academic Achievement Awards were presented to academics who ranked among the top performers.

"An Important Opportunity to Learn from You"

Rector Prof. Dr. Tamer Yılmaz made remarks at the ceremony. Yılmaz stated, "On such a day, I am certainly expected to praise science, touch upon the curiosity of scientists, speak of scientists who have changed the world, the progress our university has made over the past year and a half, our rising graphs, country and world indices, and academic metrics. However, we have no need to speak about ourselves today. Because this is a research university, and before us sit the doers, the action takers, those who understand YTÜ best, those who elevate our university in Turkey and in the world, YTÜ's most valuable minds, our leading academic staff. We cannot be proud enough of you, so before this long ceremony begins, I would like to applaud you and invite all of you to stand and applaud one another in congratulations. Yes, today we are here to award you. This is a ceremony, but also an important opportunity to know you better, to introduce you, to learn from you," he said.

Faculty of Chemistry and Metallurgy Ranks First

The faculties ranking in the top 5 were, in order: Faculty of Chemistry and Metallurgy, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Science and Letters, and Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. The departments ranking in the top 5 were determined, in order, as: Food Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, Bioengineering, and Mechanical Engineering.
