Yıldız Holding Publishes Sustainability Report

Yıldız Holding publishes sustainability report reflecting company practices and performance Yıldız Holding, updating its sustainability strategy within the framework of "This World is Ours," has published the fifth edition of its sustainability report containing environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance and best practices of its companies. The Holding's fifth Sustainability Report includes the current sustainability strategy framework, targets, and the environmental, social and governance performance of its companies as well as best practices. The report covers 2021 sustainability performance of Adapazarı Şeker, Bizim Toptan, Kerevitaş, ŞOK Marketler and Ülker Bisküvi, as well as best practices of pladis and GODIVA. The report, which also includes progress on the United Nations (UN) Global Compact (UNGC) and Women's Empowerment Principles (WEPs) that the Holding has signed, covers sustainability work and best practices implemented by Holding companies Adapazarı Şeker, Bizim Toptan, GODIVA, Kerevitaş, pladis, ŞOK Marketler and Ülker Bisküvi throughout 2021. Committed to the "Waste-Free Company" principle since its establishment, Yıldız Holding aims to create long-term, sustainable value with all stakeholders by focusing on the food and retail sectors through the "This World is Ours" approach. Structuring its sustainability strategy framework around "Working for Nature's Future," "Empowering with Stakeholders," and "Inspiring the Future with Purpose-Driven Products," Yıldız Holding aims to contribute to the UN Sustainable Development Goals through work in these focus areas.

Yıldız Holding Vice Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer Mehmet Tütüncü, in his assessment of the report, said that while continuing to work for nature's future by updating sustainability strategy and targets, they aim to contribute further to society's development and building the future. We are aware that renewing and improving resources is critical, beyond reducing carbon emissions. In this direction, with our 'Waste-Free Company' model we adopt sustainable agriculture practices and continue to invest in technologies that increase energy efficiency in all our companies and in renewable energy. Additionally, by focusing on circular economy practices, we aim to ensure that all of our plastic packaging is recyclable, reusable or compostable by 2030." Yıldız Holding continues its efforts toward a "Net Zero" emissions target by 2050, and aims to ensure that all plastic packaging is recyclable, reusable or compostable by 2030. Aiming to double sustainability-focused innovation investments by 2030 compared to 2021, Yıldız Holding is also continuing its efforts to ensure that all of its strategic suppliers comply with the "Yıldız Holding Responsible Procurement Policy" by 2030.
