We have learned with deep sorrow of the passing of Ekrem Varlık, Founder of Varlık Makina. The funeral procession will depart from Emirgan Hamid-i Evvel Mosque (under the plane tree) following afternoon prayers on 17 May 2018, and the deceased will be buried at Hasdal Cemetery. We extend our condolences to the bereaved family, relatives and loved ones, and pray for God's mercy upon the deceased. Born in Yozgat in 1949, Ekrem Varlık completed his studies in Mechanical Engineering at Yıldız Technical University, and laid the foundations of Varlık Makina in 1977 with a single lathe in a basement. Ekrem Varlık worked with determination to advance his company through difficult conditions, leaving behind a firm that today operates with 120 personnel, including 20 engineers, in 15,000 m² of enclosed space, and operates state-of-the-art facilities that export to 84 countries across five continents. We honor the memory of Ekrem Varlık, who made significant contributions to the development of Turkish industry.
