"Anatolian Plants" Short Film Competition Debuts in Turkey for the First Time!

İva Natura Organik Kozmetik launched its first short film competition this year as a corporate social responsibility project. The competition's main theme is "Cosmetic Plants of Anatolia," and the short film competition aims to highlight the rich plant diversity of our country, the importance of Anatolian plants used in cosmetics, the biological and cultural value of Anatolian plants, and to draw attention to sustainable organic living. The awards ceremony will take place on 29 November 2017 at a grand ceremony held at the Prof. Sami Şekeroğlu Cinema and TV Centre at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University in Gayrettepe.

Strong Jury Panel

The short film competition themed "Anatolian Plants," which marked a first in Turkey, features prominent figures in the country such as Derviş Zaim, Coşkun Aral, Uğur İçbak, Özcan Yüksek, Ferhat Kazancı, Müge Boz, Didem Balçın, Prof.Dr.Hüsnü Can Başer, Günnihal Demir, Oya Ayman and Tevfik Başer. Levent Kahrıman, chair of the competition's organizing committee, noted that many short films from different fields such as documentary, graphic animation, experimental and fiction were submitted to the competition and that they faced considerable difficulty during the preliminary selection process. He stated that the themes of İva Natura Cosmetic Short Film Competition, held for the first time this year, consist of striking themes such as "Anatolian plants, legends and stories related to Anatolian cosmetic plants, the use and processing of plants in today's cosmetics industry." Levent Kahrıman said they will continue with new social projects without pause following the gala night, expressing their satisfaction with the interest shown in the competition, noting they can see the competition will be long-lasting, and signaling that İva Natura Cosmetic Short Film Competition will transform into an increasingly growing film festival with different stakeholders.
