Türk Ytong, a leading autoclaved aerated concrete producer in Turkey, is implementing its first renewable energy investment in line with sustainable production targets. Within the scope of the project to be realized with the support of Saves, a group company of Nakkaş Holding, a 21 MW solar power plant (SPP) will be installed in Derik district of Mardin.
The investment, scheduled to be commissioned in 2027, aims to meet a significant portion of the electricity needs of Türk Ytong's five production facilities located in Dilovası, Tekirdağ, Bilecik, Antalya and Çatalca from solar energy.
"We aim to reduce our carbon footprint"
Agah Durukal, General Director of Türk Ytong, stated that the renewable energy investment is an important step in the company's sustainable growth vision.
In his statement on the matter, Durukal said, "With the solar power plant we will implement in Mardin Derik, we aim to meet the electricity needs of our production facilities from renewable energy sources and significantly reduce our carbon footprint. This investment will be an important indicator of our environmental responsibility understanding and sustainable production approach."
Durukal, noting that Türk Ytong continues its efforts in environmentally conscious construction and sustainable production, stated that the investment in question is also a reflection of Nakkaş Holding's commitment to clean energy transition.

YEO Teknoloji to take role in SPP project
In the solar power plant project to be constructed in Mardin Derik, Saves will assume project development and management processes. The EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) processes of the project will be carried out by YEO Teknoloji.
Site management, quality and monitoring processes will be tracked through the eyerod platform focused on digital transformation, aiming to increase the operational efficiency of the project.
Sustainable production target strengthened
