Turkish Home and Kitchenware Sector Opens Door to New Partnerships in Lithuania

Within the framework of the Lithuania Sectoral Trade Delegation Program organized by İKMİB, 11 Turkish companies conducted approximately 130 bilateral business meetings to evaluate new trading opportunities in the European market.

The Istanbul Chemical Substances and Products Exporters Association (İKMİB) organized the Sectoral Trade Delegation Program in Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania, between 15-18 June 2026, with the aim of increasing the effectiveness of Turkey's household and kitchenware sector in the European market.

The program was attended by 16 representatives from 11 companies in the sector, and approximately 130 bilateral business meetings were held with Lithuanian buyer companies. Within the scope of the program, participants had the opportunity to establish new commercial connections as well as closely examine the dynamics of the Lithuanian market.

Lithuanian market examined on site
As the first step within the delegation program, a comprehensive market research on the Lithuanian household and kitchenware market was conducted. In the retail tour organization arranged, leading retail chains in the country including Rimi, JYSK, Maxima and Kesko Senukai stores were visited.

Company representatives obtained up-to-date information on consumer trends, product variety, pricing policies and distribution channels during store visits, thereby having the opportunity to analyze the market on site.

Trade and investment opportunities evaluated at the Embassy
Within the scope of the program, Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey in Vilnius Esra Toplu hosted Turkish company representatives at the Embassy Residence.

At the meeting held, the Lithuanian economy, the development of commercial relations between the two countries, and business opportunities that Turkish companies could pursue in the region were discussed.

Approximately 130 bilateral business meetings conducted
The most important part of the program consisted of bilateral business meetings with buyer companies from Lithuania and neighboring countries.

In the organization held in Vilnius, approximately 130 business meetings were conducted with a total of 16 buyer companies, while Turkish companies had the opportunity to introduce their products directly to potential customers and lay the foundations for new business partnerships.

Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey in Vilnius Esra Toplu and Vilnius Commercial Counselor Gökhan Karaca also visited the organization and met with company representatives.

The delegation was also accompanied by Alper Eriten, Head of the Chemistry, Agriculture and Health Industries Department of the Turkish Ministry of Trade's General Directorate of Exports, and Aydın Yılmaz, Deputy Secretary General of İMMİB.

İbrahim Aracı: "We believe the new business connections will contribute to our exports"
Vice Chairman of İKMİB İbrahim Aracı stated that the Lithuania Sectoral Trade Delegation is an important organization in terms of strengthening Turkish companies' position in the European market, and said the following:

"Our plastic household and kitchenware sector's exports reached USD 251 million in the first five months of 2026. Our exports to Lithuania during the same period were at the level of USD 327.6 thousand.

Despite the uncertainties in the global economy and shrinking demand, we continue to support our companies' access to new markets and increase their effectiveness in existing markets. Within the scope of the sectoral trade delegation we conducted in Lithuania, our companies had the opportunity to make direct contact with potential buyers.

Through the trade delegations we organize as İKMİB, we aim to increase the visibility of Turkish companies in target markets, contribute to the establishment of new commercial connections, and support sustainable growth of our exports. We believe that the business connections established in Lithuania and neighboring countries will provide significant contributions to our exports in the coming period."
