Şişecam's 2017 Net Sales Rise 32% to TRY 11.3 Billion

Şişecam Group's consolidated net sales for 2017 reached TRY 11.3 billion, an increase of 32% compared to the same period of the previous year. Şişecam's net profit at the end of 2017 was TRY 1.7 billion. During 2017, the Group carried out approximately TRY 1 billion in capital expenditure and achieved production of 4.8 million tons of glass, 2.3 million tons of soda ash and 4.2 million tons of industrial raw materials. Şişecam Group's consolidated net sales for 2017 reached TRY 11.3 billion, an increase of 32% compared to the same period of the previous year, while net profit exceeded TRY 1.7 billion. The Group, which produced 4.8 million tons of glass in its domestic and overseas facilities, achieved production of 2.3 million tons of soda ash and 4.2 million tons of industrial raw materials during this period.

International Sales Account for Approximately 60%

Following the announcement of Şişecam Group Board Vice Chairman and General Manager Prof. Dr. Ahmet Kırman's financial statements for the 2017 accounting period, he made the following assessments regarding the results: "At the end of 2017, our consolidated net sales reached TRY 11.3 billion. The share of international sales, which represents the sum of exports from Turkey and sales from overseas production within consolidated sales, was realized at approximately 60%. During this period we achieved international sales at approximately TRY 6.8 billion. As a result of our ongoing optimization efforts on cost and production geographic distribution, our consolidated EBITDA volume in the 2017 accounting period was realized at TRY 3.1 billion." Prof. Dr. Ahmet Kırman, noting that the Group carried out approximately TRY 1 billion in capital expenditure in 2017 and continued to contribute to the country's economy with export revenues of USD 748 million, stated: "As a Group, we aim to further strengthen our financial structure in a way that will maintain the continuity of our stable growth trajectory and support our growth in the coming periods. We will continue to accelerate our work on the optimization of our production facilities while continuing to optimize our costs using all effective methods, particularly increased automation. In line with our policies to be pursued in accordance with our targets of sustainable profitable growth and operational excellence, we continuously conduct assessments taking into account the conditions in which the global economy finds itself."
