Şişecam, a global player in the glass and chemicals sector, continues its support for culture and arts on its 90th anniversary. Şişecam contributed to the production process of glass artworks featured in the first solo exhibition in Turkey by Swedish artist Åsa Jungnelius, a prominent representative of contemporary art, working alongside experienced glass masters.
The exhibition titled "A Verse Written with Earth, Fire, Water and Air" will be presented to art enthusiasts at Pera Museum between 16 September 2025 – 18 January 2026.
In the production process conducted with Şişecam's experienced masters, traditional moulds were abandoned and hot glass was freely shaped under the artist's direction. Masters producing organic forms through free-blowing techniques once again demonstrated that glass is not merely an industrial material but also a powerful medium of artistic expression.
The resulting works transformed into sculptures that, with their familiar yet unfamiliar appearance, reflect the transformation of breath, labour and material. This balance established between the fragility and durability of glass brought new interpretation to the relationship it creates with people.
Şişecam, transmitting glass craftsmanship from master to apprentice through 90 years of accumulated knowledge, continues to bring lasting value to the world of culture and arts by bringing this heritage together with contemporary art.
