Sabancı Holding Chairwoman Güler Sabancı Presents TEMSA's Electric Bus MD9 electriCITY to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan

The Ministry of Economy coordinated the 6th Turkey Innovation and Entrepreneurship Week, organized by the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM), which concluded with a closing ceremony held on Saturday, 9 December at the Istanbul Congress Centre. Within the scope of the organization, the MD9 electriCITY electric bus manufactured by Temsa, one of Turkey's leading automotive companies, was presented to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan by Güler Sabancı, Chairman of the Board of Sabancı Holding. President Erdoğan received detailed information from officials regarding the vehicle, whose entire software and design were developed by Turkish engineers, and subsequently tested the bus's performance on a route from the Istanbul Congress Centre in Harbiye to Yıldız Palace in Beşiktaş. Learning that Temsa, currently ranked fourth in the US market, has total exports approaching 12,000 units, President Erdoğan congratulated those involved in the project. In remarks on the matter, Güler Sabancı, Chairman of the Board of Sabancı Holding, emphasized that they prioritize advanced technology in all areas of their operations, particularly in industry, stating: "Companies that invest in advanced technology and stand out through innovation and R&D succeed in making a difference. We are greatly pleased to see that Temsa, which has concentrated its investments in this area recently, is progressing toward becoming a global force. We take pride in the fact that Temsa has now evolved from being primarily a technology-focused automotive company to being an automotive manufacturing technology company. Our buses, products of 100% Turkish engineering, can now be seen on roads across four continents and 66 countries. Temsa produces technology to world standards and continues to add innovative products every day for a cleaner world. Sabancı Group Wins Three Awards at Innovation and Entrepreneurship Week

Sabancı Group was recognized with three awards at the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Week organized by the Turkish Exporters Assembly. At the InnoLig Awards, Temsa Transportation Vehicles, a Sabancı Group company, won first place in the "Innovation Cycle" category, while Kordsa received third place in the "Innovation Strategy" category. Additionally, under the TİM Innovation Special Awards, Sabancı Holding received the Open Innovation Special Award.

230 Kilometer Range

• MD9 electriCITY, with a 63-passenger capacity; thanks to its three doors, provides rapid passenger boarding and alighting. • While a diesel-powered vehicle has approximately 300 moving parts, this number drops to 5 in an electric vehicle. • This bus with a 200kWh battery has a 230 km range and can be charged in 6 hours. • As of today, the vehicle's local content rate stands at 60%, however, with the production of battery, motor and axles in Turkey planned for 2020, the local content rate is expected to reach 98%.
