Porima Expands Export Markets

Aksa Akrilik and ITU Arı Teknokent-backed Porima expands export market. The Yalova-based company producing three-dimensional printer filament has begun exporting to Europe and the Middle East following the United States. Porima Founder Partner and CEO Serhat Oran said they aim to make domestically produced filaments available for use worldwide. Acrylic fiber producer Aksa Akrilik and the Porima initiative backed by ITU Arı Teknokent have raised the bar in exports. Since 2018, the Yalova-based company producing three-dimensional printer filament has begun exporting to Europe and the Middle East following the United States, the world's largest market in this field. Thanks to Porima, founded by two young engineers named Serhat Oran and Kadri Karadeniz, thermoplastic semi-finished product exports from Yalova to the United States, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Israel, Palestine, Azerbaijan and Northern Cyprus have been realized.

Doubling production capacity

Porima Founder Partner and CEO Serhat Oran stated that they aim to export domestically produced filaments to the entire global market. Addressing the importance of new distribution agreements in the United States, United Kingdom and Azerbaijan, Oran continued as follows: "Thanks to our new partnerships in 2022, we plan to reach serious volumes in exports in the coming period. It is gratifying to begin exporting to major markets such as Europe and the Middle East after the United States. We hold 40 percent market share in the domestic market. While contributing to reduced dependence on imports with our domestic production, we also aim to double our capacity and become a strong player in the global filament market," he said.

Aksa Akrilik Board Member and General Manager Cengiz Taş congratulated Porima on its new export achievements. Taş noted that within the scope of the Entrepreneurship Value project, they support initiatives developing innovative and sustainable technologies like Porima, continuing as follows: "Porima is the first company in which we made an investment under our project. We are pleased to contribute to such a valuable and successful startup that has initiated the domestic cartridge era in three-dimensional printers and has achieved exports to markets such as the United States, Europe and the Middle East.
