Petrol Ofisi Provides Valuable Support to Disaster Zone
Petrol Ofisi announced that it has allocated TRY 100 million in resources to ensure uninterrupted search and rescue and debris removal operations in the disaster zone.
In this context, 5 million litres of fuel is being made available free of charge to AFAD through automation systems at Petrol Ofisi stations in 10 provinces affected by the earthquake, on a phased basis. The company made the following statement on the matter:
"It is our responsibility to contribute to these difficult times that have shaken our nation deeply. As Petrol Ofisi Group, we have mobilized all our resources from the first moment of the disaster and are acting in solidarity with all public institutions, working with all our efforts to ensure uninterrupted fuel supply with the unconditional support of our dealers and regional operations in the area.
In this regard, we hope that this support we are providing to AFAD will be a lifeline for search and rescue and debris removal operations."
In addition to the TRY 100 million support announced for AFAD in the region, the company mobilized all its infrastructure to ensure the uninterrupted continuation of vital national and international aircraft assistance in search and rescue operations.
To date, Petrol Ofisi Group has supplied 1.5 million litres of fuel to 140 aid aircraft, deploying three separate ships at Mersin Port, and is working with air supply centres in Adana and Gaziantep to ensure smooth 24-hour operations of aid aircraft traffic in the region.
The following statement was also made regarding the operations:
"Air assistance in the disaster zone is of vital importance due to challenging weather conditions that take precedence over ground search and rescue operations. In this context, as Petrol Ofisi, we have structured all our air, land and sea transportation operations across Turkey to serve the disaster area. We will continue to work with all our strength to overcome these difficult times." SourceAdvertisement
