Kordsa closes 2017 with record patent applications as well

Kordsa, a subsidiary of Sabancı Holding, continues to develop innovations that will advance the sectors in which it operates through R&D and innovation work that form an integral part of its corporate culture. Kordsa, which reached a record number of patents in 2016, closed 2017 with a record number of patent applications. Kordsa, a leading company in tire and construction reinforcement as well as composite technologies sectors that places R&D and innovation at the center of every operation it conducts, followed up on 128 inventions, 407 patent applications and 121 approved patents it registered in 2016 by closing 2017 with a record patent application figure. Kordsa increased its total patent portfolio by approximately 60 percent in 2017, and as of year-end, the company holds 167 inventions, 664 patent applications and 168 approved patents worldwide. Kordsa's invention count also increased by a record 14 percent in 2017. The R&D teams that produced the most inventions at Kordsa were the Izmit facility with 71 percent and the Composite Technologies Center of Excellence with 26 percent.
