Kırıkhan Metal Vocational High School Students Take First Step into Chemical Production

Koruma Şirketler Grubu, which operates a production facility in Kırıkhan district of Hatay, continues its support for the Chemistry department that became operational this academic year at Kırıkhan Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School. Koruma Şirketler Grubu, which equipped the Chemistry department's laboratory with industrial products, also established a production workshop to enable students to learn while producing. Students who began production under the brand name Han Kimya will manufacture liquid soap, surface cleaners, liquid dishwashing detergent, cologne and disinfectant. Kırıkhan Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School (MTAL) Chemistry department students, who started their educational journey last term, are preparing to manufacture liquid soap, surface cleaners, liquid dishwashing detergent, cologne and hand disinfectant in the chemistry workshop. The importance of vocational education for Turkey became particularly evident during the pandemic period when supply problems were experienced and there was rapid demand for new products. Another Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School was added to respond to the sudden demand that emerged in disinfectant and hygiene product manufacturing.

Established at the Request of Mahmut Özer

The request to open a chemistry department at Kırıkhan MTAL, where Koruma Şirketler Grubu carries out chemical production in Kırıkhan district of Hatay, was submitted to the Ministry of National Education last year. This academic term, at the request of National Education Minister Mahmut Özer, Kırıkhan MTAL began offering chemistry education and shared the requirements for the department to provide quality education with Koruma Şirketler Grubu's Kırıkhan Plant.

Laboratory Support Takes Priority

Koruma Şirketler Grubu responded to the laboratory needs of Kırıkhan MTAL's Chemistry department by sharing industrial laboratory equipment from its production facility in Kırıkhan with students. Thanks to the shared equipment, students and instructors who experienced processes in a modern chemical production facility rolled up their sleeves to accomplish more.

Production Workshop Established

Following laboratory support, Kırıkhan MTAL instructors took action to "learn by producing" and decided to establish a production workshop in the chemistry field. At the production workshop established with support from Koruma Şirketler Grubu, students will engage in the manufacturing of liquid soap, surface cleaner, liquid dishwashing detergent, cologne and hand disinfectant, thereby meeting the need for disinfectant and hygiene products during the pandemic period while learning through production. Koruma Şirketler Grubu, which provided the necessary equipment for production, also provided Kırıkhan MTAL instructors with training support on equipment use and production requirements.
