Digital Transformation Begins at İzmir Atatürk OSB

Digitalization is gaining pace in Turkey's organized industrial zones, which serve as the country's manufacturing hubs. İzmir Atatürk Organized Industrial Zone (İAOSB) has made a major investment in a SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system that will move its electricity grid into a digital environment.

Digitalization is accelerating in Turkey's organized industrial zones, which serve as the country's production base. Izmir Atatürk Organized Industrial Zone (İAOSB) has made a significant investment in a SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system to transfer its electrical grid to the digital environment.

The SCADA system installation will be carried out using the advanced technology and sector expertise of Schneider Electric, a global leader in energy management and automation digital transformation. The project's official signing ceremony took place at İAOSB on Tuesday, 6 May, with the participation of İAOSB Board Chairman Cenk Karace and Schneider Electric Turkey and Central Asia Regional Director İsmail Yamangil. With the signing ceremony, the digital transformation process of the region's energy infrastructure has formally begun. The project, which will make a significant contribution to the industrial zone's operational efficiency, energy quality and sustainability, is regarded as a strategic step toward the industry's digital future.

"Through digital transformation, we are building not just our infrastructure, but the future of our industry"
Speaking at the ceremony, İAOSB Board Chairman Cenk Karace described this investment as part of a long-term vision and made the following remarks:

"As Izmir Atatürk Organized Industrial Zone, with the responsibility of being one of Turkey's largest and most established industrial zones, we are taking another powerful step to carry our industry toward its digital future. As a region managing a massive infrastructure with over 600 industrial enterprises and more than 320 MVA of electrical power, digitalization in energy management has become not an option but a necessity for us.

With our transition to the SCADA system, we are gaining an advanced structure that enables us to monitor our electrical infrastructure in real time, identify faults instantly, and provide remote intervention capability. Through this system, we not only increase our efficiency but also ensure production continuity by providing our industrialists with uninterrupted and quality energy, making a strong contribution to sustainability.

This investment is the product of a vision that considers not just today but also the future. Digital infrastructure strengthens our industry's competitiveness and agile transformation capability. We are very pleased to work with a global technology leader like Schneider Electric on this strategic transformation journey. We thank the entire Schneider Electric team for bringing their expertise and experience to our project, and we believe that this transformation we have accomplished together will add long-term value to our region's industry."

"This project is a shared investment in our industry's digital future"
Schneider Electric Turkey and Central Asia Regional Director İsmail Yamangil, speaking at the ceremony, drew attention to the impact of digitalization in organized industrial zones on the country's economy and made the following remarks:

"Organized industrial zones are at the center of Turkey's production capacity. Digitalization of the infrastructure in these zones plays a critical role not only in increasing operational efficiency but also in terms of sustainability and energy security. As Schneider Electric, it is both a major responsibility and an honor for us to support industrial zones like İAOSB with our expertise in energy management and automation.

The SCADA project we are implementing with İAOSB is not merely a technological integration but an important step taken to enable our industry to produce in a sustainable, efficient and uninterrupted manner. We view this collaboration as a long-term partnership that will serve as an example for future industrial infrastructure transformations, not just for today. We are delighted to build the industry's digital future together."
