20 Companies from Adana Make Turkey's Top 1000 Exporters List
Twenty companies from Adana have been included in Turkey's Top 1000 Exporters list.
TİM's research enables observation of the annual performance of the country's largest export organizations and allows for detailed analysis across multiple dimensions.
According to the research, total exports in 2021 increased by 32.8% compared to the previous year, reaching USD 225 billion 220 million.
The total exports of companies in the top 1000 increased by 33.2% in 2021 compared to the previous year, reaching USD 123.3 billion. These companies' share of total exports was 54.7%, and the number of firms with exports of USD 1 billion and above stood at 15.
Adana Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chairman Zeki Kıvanç stated: "In 2021, Adana's exports performed above the national average, surpassing the highest annual export level previously achieved in 2018 and reaching USD 2 billion 492 million, marking the highest export in its history.
This is a historic record for our province. We thank everyone who contributed. Our export target for 2021 is USD 3.5 billion. As industrialists, our priorities are increased investment, production, exports and employment."
Noting that Adana will undergo significant transformation in the coming period, Kıvanç stated: "In five years, people who come to Adana will not recognize it. I say this sincerely and with conviction. Adana is rapidly advancing toward becoming Turkey's second largest production hub after the Marmara region.
Our province's proximity to Mersin, one of the Mediterranean's largest container ports, its newly built regional airport and the railway lines to be completed position it as the region's logistical center.
Our region is an important production center for iron-steel, chemicals, plastics, metal-machinery, textiles, food and agricultural production. Its rich sociocultural structure, favorable climate, excellent universities and tourist infrastructure make it an attraction center for investors and workers coming from abroad."
