IKMIB Opens Turkish Chemical Sector to Target Markets

The Istanbul Chemical Substances and Products Exporters Association (İKMİB) is opening the Turkish chemical sector to target markets abroad through activities that strengthen chemical exports. Having organized 4 trade fair events in January, İKMİB continues to lead the sector in the global journey of chemical exporters. İKMİB Board Chairman Adil Pelister stated that they plan to hold 35 events in 19 countries in 2024, saying: "This year, in addition to 16 national trade fair participations, we will organize 4 info stand participations, 10 sectoral trade delegations and 5 purchasing delegations to bring our exporters' potential to target markets. We aim to promote quality and competitively priced products from our exporting companies representing the Turkish chemical sector at the world's most important trade fairs, increasing their market share and contributing to sustainable export growth."

4 Events in 3 Different Countries in January

İKMİB Board Chairman Adil Pelister said they carried out 4 separate trade fair participations in the United States, Germany and the United Arab Emirates between 23 January and 3 February 2024, continuing: "Through national participation organizations, trade delegations, and Ur-Ge projects that we organize as İKMİB, we contribute to our exporting companies establishing new business connections. Our participating companies have the opportunity to showcase Turkish products, which stand out in the global market with high production capacity and product quality, at the sector's most important trade fairs. We plan to hold 35 events in 19 countries in 2024. In addition to 16 national trade fair participations, we will organize 4 info stand participations, 10 sectoral trade delegations and 5 purchasing delegations to bring our exporters' potential to target markets. We completed 4 events in January. On 23-25 January, we organized the national participation for the Cosmoprof North America Miami 2024 Fair targeting the cosmetics sector in Miami, USA. On 26-30 January, we organized the national participation for the Ambiente 2024 Fair held in Frankfurt, Germany for the home and kitchen goods sector, and between 29 January and 1 February, we organized the national participation for the Arab Health 2024 Fair held in Dubai, UAE targeting the medical and pharmaceutical sector. Between 30 January and 3 February, we provided info participation in the Spielwarenmesse 2024 International Toy Fair held in Nuremberg, Germany." 6 Events in 5 Different Countries to be Held in February

Pelister emphasized that they will hold 6 events simultaneously in 5 different countries in February – UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kazakhstan, Spain and the USA – saying: "On 6-8 February 2024, we will be at the AEEDC 2024 dental fair in Dubai. As İKMİB, in cooperation with DİŞSİAD, we are organizing the national participation for the AEEDC fair for the 5th time this year, with a total of 42 Turkish companies participating, 28 of them under national participation. On 11-13 February 2024, we will organize the national participation for the Beautyworld Saudi Arabia Fair in Riyadh targeting our cosmetics and cleaning sectors. On 11-14 February 2024, we will organize the Kazakhstan Home and Kitchen Goods Sector Trade Delegation, and on 11-15 February 2024, we will organize our ECRM Europe Trade Delegation in Barcelona, Spain within the cosmetics and cleaning sector scope. We will organize the Saudi Arabia Health Sector Trade Delegation on 12-15 February 2024. On 27-29 February 2024, we will participate with an info stand in the NAHB IBS 2024 Fair held in Las Vegas, USA, targeting our paints and building materials sectors. To achieve our export target of 35 billion dollars this year, we continue our activities intensively," he said.

Cosmoprof North America Miami 2024 Fair Held for the First Time

Cosmoprof North America, one of the most important cosmetics sector fairs in America, is held regularly every year in Las Vegas, USA. This year, the national participation organization for the Cosmoprof North America fair, held for the first time in Miami, USA on 23-25 January 2024, was carried out by İKMİB. A total of 18 companies from Turkey participated in the fair, 11 under the national participation organization and 7 individually. At the fair, which was also visited by significant numbers of buyers from the southern part of the American continent in addition to the USA, Turkish Consul General in Miami Resul Şahinoğlu, Turkish Consul in Miami Oğuz Köşker, Turkish Trade Attaché Ömer İnce, İKMİB Board Member Uğur Adıyaman and TİM Delegate S.Özgür Öztürk visited the exporting companies and conveyed their best wishes. The fair hosted over 700 participants from 40 countries and was visited by 19,000 people from 11 countries, with numerous companies from the southern part of the American continent participating alongside those from the USA.

199 Turkish Companies Participated

The Turkish national participation organization for the Arab Health Fair, the 49th edition held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates between 29 January and 1 February 2024 and the Middle East's largest fair for the medical and pharmaceutical sector, was organized by İKMİB for the 5th time this year. A total of 199 Turkish companies participated in the fair, with 49 companies participating under national participation and 150 companies participating individually. The fair hosted over 3,000 participants this year, with Turkey represented by a 702 square meter country stand. Exporting companies operating in the health, medical and equipment sector had the opportunity to showcase a wide variety of products such as medical devices, products, consumables, hospital furniture, surgical equipment, orthopedic products, pharmaceuticals and software products at the fair. Turkish Trade Attachés in Dubai Ersoy Erbay, Hacı Hasan Kaygısız and Muhammed Emin Erkal, İKMİB Vice Board Chairman Tayfun Demir, İKMİB Pharmaceutical Sector Committee Chairman Ahmet Altuğ Oğuz, İKMİB Pharmaceutical Sector Committee Member Orhan Mutlu Topal, İKMİB Medical Device Sector Committee Members Sevim Öztaşkın, Adil Boz and Cemil Çakar, as well as Turkish Ministry of Health - TITUEK Medical Device and Cosmetic Products Vice President Mehmet Hakan Fırat and Turkish Ministry of Health - TITUEK Medical Device Sectoral Services Department Head Servet Sarıhan visited the companies at the fair and conveyed their best wishes.  

292 Turkish Companies at Ambiente 2024 Fair

The national participation organization for the Ambiente 2024 Fair, held in Frankfurt, Germany on 26-30 January 2024 and the most important fair for the home and kitchen goods sector, was carried out for the 27th time in cooperation between İKMİB and İDDMİB. 118 companies participated under national participation in 5 separate halls covering 2,532 m², while 174 companies participated individually. A total of 292 Turkish companies were represented at the fair. Turkish Consul General in Frankfurt Erdem Tunçer, Turkish Trade Attaché in Frankfurt Yusuf Yerkel, İKMİB Board Members Ali Küçük and Selçuk Gülsün, and İKMİB Extended Board Members Volkan Yaprak, Kenan Benlilers and Ali Alper Olgun visited participating companies and extended their congratulations.

İKMİB Participated in Spielwarenmesse 2024 International Toy Fair

İKMİB participated with an info stand in the Spielwarenmesse 2024 Fair, held in Nuremberg, Germany on 30 January - 3 February 2024, the most important fair for the toy sector. At the 73rd edition of the fair this year, 2,354 participants from 68 countries participated, while the fair was visited by 57,000 people from 125 countries. A total of 67 Turkish companies, 39 of them İKMİB members, were represented at the fair. Turkish Consul General in Nuremberg Fatma Taşan Cebeci, Turkish Trade Attachés in Munich Recep Aslan and Ali Bayraktar, İKMİB Board Member Selçuk Gülsün and İKMİB Extended Board Member Volkan Yaprak visited participating companies and extended their congratulations.
