Henkel Uses Specially Developed Software Tool EasyD4R

Recyclable packaging is one of the prerequisites for a functional circular economy. Henkel uses the specially developed software tool EasyD4R to determine the recyclability of new packaging quickly and reliably. Henkel has made this assessment tool available to the general public on a page on its website, so that more companies and organizations can use it and sustainable packaging solutions can be developed more easily. The EasyD4R software is based on the public and recognized criteria catalogues of European Plastic Recyclers and is used throughout Henkel. The aim here is to be able to assess the recyclability of packaging that is currently in the early stages of product development quickly and effectively. This was also confirmed by an independent test carried out by the Fraunhofer Institute for Environmental, Safety and Energy Technology (UMSICHT). Scientists analyzed this assessment tool and its findings and compared them with national and international standards.
