"B_House" Designed by Elips Tasarım Mimarlık Wins European Property Awards

B_House, designed by Elips Tasarım Mimarlık, has been recognized for an award in the "Architecture Single Residence" category of the European Property Awards 2019 under the International Property Awards, which showcases numerous architectural and interior design projects from the international arena. Elips Tasarım Mimarlık, led by Chief Architect Feza Ökten Koca and known for award-winning architectural and interior design projects as well as furniture design work at national and international levels, won this award with the B_House project located in Konya and completed in 2018. In the B_House design, the intention was to combine modern and traditional elements by absorbing the city of Konya and Mevlana, with the aim of adding meaning and comfort to the homeowners' lives. The design drew inspiration from Mevlana's call, "Come, whoever you are," and his philosophy that "within every difference, a similarity can be found." The identity of Konya, formed by its view of life and the universe as being in continuous development, change and innovation, supports this philosophy. While contemporary modernism in the historic city of Konya manifests itself through the simplicity and plainness in B_House's architectural design, more traditional lines appear in the furniture selections. Beyond design, technology also plays a role in B_House; the operation of all electrical and mechanical systems in the project is controlled through smart home systems. The structure uses materials with high thermal insulation in the facade and windows, and LED systems are used for all lighting, thereby aiming to minimize energy consumption. In fine details, marble, laminate parquet, wood, wallpaper and paint are prominent. Nature, one of the most important inspirations for the B_House design, is invited into the home through the axes and transparency created in the structure, while the light tones used in the space create an important starting point for the user to achieve inner peace.
