"B_House" Designed by Elips Tasarım Mimarlık Receives Award from European Property Awards

Elips Tasarım Mimarlık's B_House Wins International Architecture Award B_House, designed by Elips Tasarım Mimarlık, has been awarded in the "Architecture Single Residence" category at the European Property Awards 2019, part of the International Property Awards competition that brings together numerous architectural and interior design projects from the international arena. Under the leadership of Chief Architect Feza Ökten Koca, Elips Tasarım Mimarlık has authored award-winning architectural, interior design and furniture design projects at national and international scale. The firm won this award with the B_House project, located in Konya and completed in 2018. In the B_House design, the aim was to combine modern and traditional elements while absorbing the city of Konya and Mevlana, thereby bringing meaning and comfort to the owners' lives. The design was inspired by Mevlana's call "Come, whoever you may be" and his philosophy that "In every difference, there is a similarity to be found." The identity of Konya, shaped by its view of life and the universe as being in continuous development, change and innovation, supports this philosophy. While contemporary modernism in the historic city of Konya manifests itself through the simplicity and minimalism in B_House's architectural design, furniture selections follow more traditional lines. Beyond design, technology plays a role in B_House as well. All electrical and mechanical systems in the project are controlled through smart home systems. High-performance insulation materials were chosen for the facades and windows, while all lighting uses LED systems, with the goal of minimizing energy consumption. In fine finishes, marble, laminate parquet, wood, wallpaper and paint take centre stage. Nature, one of the most important inspirations for the B_House design, is brought into the home through the axes and transparency created in the structure. The light tones used in the spaces provide an important starting point for the user to achieve inner peace.
