EİB Thanks 2021 Export Champions Ege İhracatçı Birlikleri acknowledged 56 companies that earned 61 awards by ranking among the top three in their sectors and generating USD 7.8 billion in foreign currency for Turkey in 2021, through newspaper announcements. Ege İhracatçı Birlikleri announced the 2021 export champions as a nine-column headline in newspapers and plans to hold the traditional "Stars of Exports Awards Ceremony" in the coming period. Ege İhracatçı Birlikleri Coordinating President Jak Eskinazi noted that Turkey set a record for exports in the history of the Republic with USD 225 billion in 2021 exports and stated that the Aegean Region contributed over USD 28 billion to Turkey's exports. Eskinazi shared information that the 56 companies in Ege İhracatçı Birlikleri's "Champions League" achieved USD 7.8 billion in exports in 2021, saying: "Our export champions succeeded in growing their 2020 exports of USD 5.3 billion by 47 percent in 2021. We view each of our 7,000 exporters contributing to the USD 16.325 billion in exports achieved by Ege İhracatçı Birlikleri in 2021 as a 'Hero'. We launched Turkey's first awards ceremony for exporters in 2004 as Ege İhracatçı Birlikleri. During the peak of the pandemic, we wanted to provide some morale to our exporters through newspaper announcements." Stars of Exports accounted for 48 percent of EİB's exports Eskinazi stated that the 56 Stars of Exports companies accounted for 48 percent of Ege İhracatçı Birlikleri's 2021 exports and added that they aimed to contribute USD 18 billion to Turkey's exports in 2022, with sustainability, digitalization, logistics, design, promotion, innovation and R&D being the focus areas to reach this target. It was observed that 46 companies on Ege İhracatçı Birlikleri's Stars of Exports List maintained their positions, while 10 companies successfully entered the list with their 2021 exports. PETKİM Petrokimya Holding A.Ş. was the top exporting company among EİB members, while Pergamon Status Dış Ticaret A.Ş., ranked second on the highest exporters list, was announced as the company with the highest exports from EİB in 2021. The third place among EİB's highest exporting companies list was held by Başak Metal Tic. and San. A.Ş., the export champion of the Ferrous and Non-Ferrous Metals Sector. 33 companies from İzmir, 11 from Manisa While 33 companies from İzmir were among the export champions, Manisa sent 11 companies from its top exporters to the export champions list. Six companies from Aydın entered the export champions list, while Denizli was represented with 3 companies, Muğla with 2 and Uşak with 1 company.
