CK Enerji Reaches Over 62,000 Students Through "Energy Literacy" Program

Since 2018, CK Enerji's Energy Literacy Project has transformed into a powerful awareness movement that has changed not only students' consumption habits, but also those of their families and communities. Through protocols established with Provincial Directorates of National Education in Istanbul European Side, Antalya, Sivas, Tokat and Yozgat, the Energy Literacy Project has reached more than 62,000 children across 460 schools in total.

Aiming to raise public awareness on the conscious and efficient use of energy resources, CK Enerji continued to enlighten young minds through the Energy Literacy Project during the 2024-2025 academic year. Under protocols with Provincial Directorates of National Education, trainings conducted throughout the year in 72 schools across 26 districts in Istanbul European Side, Antalya, Sivas, Tokat and Yozgat reached 12,407 students. Since 2018, through the project engaging elementary school children, CK Enerji has informed more than 62,000 students across 460 schools in five provinces about energy efficiency and conservation.

Transforming into an Awareness Movement through Children
The Energy Literacy Project, which grows each year by reaching more students, has become a powerful awareness movement that influences families and the general energy consumption patterns of communities through children, contributing to sustainability. Through the Energy Literacy Project implemented via CK Enerji's licensed distribution companies CK Enerji Boğaziçi Elektrik, CK Enerji Akdeniz Elektrik and CK Enerji Çamlıbel Elektrik, fundamental information such as how electricity is generated, safe usage methods and energy conservation practices is conveyed through interactive methods. For 3rd and 4th grade students, trainings covering topics such as "what is electricity, how is it produced, safe electricity use, energy efficiency, energy conservation at home and school" are provided, with the aim of instilling energy conservation awareness particularly at the primary school level.

Preparations Begin for 2025-2026 Academic Year
During the 2024-2025 academic year, Energy Literacy trainings held in 20 schools across 7 districts in Istanbul European Side were attended by 2,018 students, a program covering 5 districts in Antalya reached 6,874 students, and trainings conducted in 14 districts in Sivas, Tokat and Yozgat reached 3,515 students. Preparations for the 2025-2026 academic year have already begun. The new term aims to reach more schools and develop education models enriched with digital content.

Project Launched in 2018
Through its licensed distribution companies, CK Enerji launched the "Energy Literacy" Project in 2018, and since then has taken steps comprising multiple phases aimed at efficient and conscious use of energy. Initiatives such as 'transparent billing' enabling consumers to see individual items on their electricity bills, a 'consumption calculator button' showing how much electricity household appliances consume, and a 'consumer booklet' to support conscious electricity use have been implemented. In the meantime, since the 2018-2019 academic year, employees of CK Enerji Boğaziçi Elektrik, CK Enerji Akdeniz Elektrik and CK Enerji Çamlıbel Elektrik have been providing Energy Literacy trainings in schools determined in coordination with the provincial directorates of national education in the provinces they serve.
