Çimsa Announces First Quarter Financial Results

Çimsa, a Sabancı Holding subsidiary, generated TRY 11.5 billion in revenue in the first half of the year, increasing net profit by 4.2% year-on-year to TRY 1.9 billion.
Çimsa announced its first-half financial results. In addition to its financial performance, Çimsa achieved significant successes with sustainability initiatives, customer-focused innovative solutions, and growing effectiveness in global markets. During this period, the company generated TRY 11.5 billion in revenue. In the same period, Çimsa increased its net profit by 4.2% annually, bringing it to TRY 1.9 billion.
Çimsa complemented these financial achievements with advances in sustainability. Çimsa CEO Umut Zenar commented on the company's performance during this period, stating: "The steps we have taken in sustainability at Çimsa, the successful certification of our low-carbon products and our export leadership, along with our inclusion in the FTSE4Good Emerging Index, demonstrate that we are on the right path. We will continue to take strong steps toward the future, adding value to both our country and our sector."
Umut Zenar continued: "Our increased momentum in the Fortune 500 and Capital 500 lists, which reflect true company performance, confirms our position in the sector and our financial strength at Çimsa, while also strengthening our credibility with investors and business partners. We are also proving that we are taking the right steps toward achieving our strategic objectives. Our goal for the upcoming period is to continue investing in sustainable growth and innovative projects to gain a stronger position in the global market. Through this, we will continue to be recognized not only in Turkey but also internationally."
Çimsa achieved a significant jump in the "Fortune 500 Turkey's Largest Companies" list compiled by Fortune Turkey, advancing 55 positions in the overall ranking and entering the top 100 companies. Following the Fortune survey, the company rose 44 positions in Capital Magazine's "Turkey's 500 Largest Companies" research. This success is regarded as an indicator of Çimsa's increasing strength and reputation both nationally and internationally.
Another important step supporting Çimsa's sustainability-focused investments was a EUR 25 million credit agreement signed with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). This long-term financing, which EBRD provided to a cement company for the first time in Turkey, will be used for a Solar Power Plant (SPP) and Waste Heat Recovery (WHR) systems to be implemented at the Eskişehir plant, as well as other energy and efficiency projects. Additionally, the solar energy plant investment completed by the company at its Buñol plant in Spain once again demonstrated Çimsa's commitment to renewable energy and environmental sustainability.
Furthermore, Çimsa received first-place awards in the 2023 Export Champions awards in the categories "Firm with Highest Exports" in the white cement sector and "Firm with Highest Export Growth" in the grey cement sector.
