Chemetall expands Aluminum Competence Center in Hamm, Germany
Leading surface treatment supplier Chemetall, a global business unit of BASF Coatings, has expanded the Aluminum Competence Center in Hamm, Germany.
The new, state-of-the-art facilities strengthen Chemetall's position as a global supplier to the aluminum finishing industry. Aluminum Finishing Global Segment Manager Martin Ings stated, "Since taking over CHEMAL's anodizing business in 2015, this expansion of the Competence Center and investment in ultra-modern technology further strengthens our global presence in this key sector."
The Hamm site is fully dedicated to research and development projects and plays a key role in the growth of Chemetall's global aluminum finishing business. "Aluminum continues to expand in applications and has become one of the most widely used metals worldwide," said Martin Ings.
"The industry is facing an increasingly large amount of aluminum surfaces — and we are positioned to serve market needs through our Competence Center in Hamm, our technical services, and our strong global network," Ings concluded. Chemetall is one of only a few players globally positioned with a comprehensive product range that includes advanced pretreatment and anodizing technologies for the aluminum finishing industry.
The Chemetall Aluminum Competence Center serves not only the architectural and construction industries but also manufacturers of aerosol and beverage cans. The laboratory equipment in Hamm meets quality requirements for the aluminum finishing industry, such as GSB or Qualicoat.
