Cengiz Enerji Continues Growth

Cengiz Enerji, one of Turkey's leading energy companies with a total installed capacity of 5,744 MW, continued its operations in 2025 with a balanced production model and investments focused on energy supply security. The company continued to contribute to the continuity of the energy system through its integrated structure, which effectively manages base load capacity and renewable energy sources within the same system.
With a total installed capacity of 5,744 MW, Cengiz Enerji, ranked among Turkey's leading energy companies, continued its operations in 2025 with a balanced production model and investments focused on energy supply security. Through its integrated structure, which effectively manages baseload capacity with renewable energy sources within the same system, the company continued to contribute to the continuity of the energy system.
The structure of the energy sector, which requires real-time balancing of supply and demand, became even more critical in 2025. During this period, Cengiz Enerji managed baseload capacity provided by thermal plants together with hydroelectric, wind and solar energy through an integrated production approach. The company's renewable energy portfolio reached a total installed capacity of 3,274 MW, comprising 2,290 MW hydroelectric, 828 MW solar and 156 MW wind. Abroad, the 480 MW natural gas plant in Uzbekistan ranked among the important elements completing the balanced structure of the portfolio.
INTEGRATED APPROACH SPANNING PRODUCTION TO DISTRIBUTION
In 2025, Cengiz Enerji continued to contribute to Turkey's energy infrastructure through its electricity distribution operations. Through Boğaziçi Elektrik Dağıtım A.Ş. (BEDAŞ), Akdeniz Elektrik Dağıtım A.Ş. (AEDAŞ), Meram Elektrik Dağıtım A.Ş. (MEDAŞ) and Çamlıbel Elektrik Dağıtım A.Ş. (ÇEDAŞ), the company continued to ensure continuity of electricity supply to approximately 20 million people across 13 provinces, particularly on the European side of Istanbul. Within the scope of this distribution portfolio, which covers approximately 30% of Turkey's total electricity consumption, Cengiz Enerji distributed approximately 54 billion kWh of electricity annually.
BALANCED AND PREDICTABLE GROWTH WAS THE INVESTMENT FOCUS IN 2025
2025 was a period in which Cengiz Enerji's growth strategy was supported by a controlled, predictable and long-term perspective. The company's total new installed capacity currently in planning and permitting stages stands at approximately 1,160 MW. Of this capacity, 550 MW comprises the natural gas plant investment to be implemented in Uzbekistan, while 610 MW consists mainly of renewable and storage plant projects in Turkey. With regard to permits and ÇED processes, a portion of the projects progressing accordingly is targeted for commissioning in 2026. In wind energy, the company continued its efforts throughout 2025 to increase production efficiency as well as capacity through investment in new-generation turbines with a capacity of 7.2 MW, one of Turkey's largest wind turbines. These investments support Cengiz Enerji's long-term energy supply security and system flexibility objectives, beyond expanding installed capacity.

HYBRID AND STORAGE STEPS BECAME STRATEGIC PRIORITY
Due to the variable nature of renewable energy production, system balance and supply continuity were elevated to the main agenda items of the energy sector in 2025. Within this framework, Cengiz Enerji focused on hybrid and storage investments to increase portfolio resilience. The company, which brought Turkey's first hybrid plant into operation, continued its hybrid production at Aşağı Kalekoy with 80 MW solar energy in addition to 500 MW hydroelectric capacity. While preliminary license processes for storage plant investments were completed, projects are targeted for phased commissioning following the permitting stages. The national 34,000 MW capacity framework covering the next 10-year requirement for storage plants was closely monitored throughout the year as one of the key reference points that Cengiz Enerji considered in its investment planning.
CENTRAL ASIA AND TURKIC REPUBLICS IN FOCUS FOR INTERNATIONAL INVESTMENTS
Uzbekistan maintained its priority position in Cengiz Enerji's international portfolio in 2025. Existing plants and ongoing investments contribute to the country's energy supply security while forming the fundamental building blocks of the company's international growth strategy. Cengiz Enerji continued to closely monitor different geographies, particularly Central Asia and Turkic Republics, for sustainable and long-term investment opportunities that comply with regulations.
Within this scope, Cengiz Enerji took a strategic step in the Middle East in 2025. In line with the agreement signed between an international consortium in which the company participates and Syria's Ministry of Energy, the implementation phase was reached for projects involving natural gas and solar energy plants targeting a total installed capacity of 5,000 MW. The investment is aimed at strengthening the region's energy supply security and contributing to long-term economic recovery.
INVESTMENT IN FUTURE ENGINEERS
In 2025, alongside investments in energy infrastructure, Cengiz Enerji strengthened its efforts toward qualified human resources that will shape the sector's future. In cooperation with the Chamber of Electrical Engineers (EMO) Ankara Branch, the company implemented the ReAktör mentorship program. Designed as a concrete example of university-industry cooperation, the program aims for young engineers to apply their theoretical knowledge in actual production environments and to prepare themselves more comprehensively for the energy sector. Within the scope of the project, mentorship, field experience and technical facility visits for electrical and electronics engineering students from 11 universities in Ankara are planned to continue in 2026.
"LASTING VALUE IN ENERGY INVESTMENTS IS POSSIBLE THROUGH CORRECT PORTFOLIO ARCHITECTURE"
Cengiz Enerji CEO Ahmet Türkoğlu used the following statements in his assessment of 2025: "The path to creating lasting value in energy investments lies in planning tomorrow's system correctly today while meeting today's needs. Our focus in 2025 was to create a portfolio architecture that combines baseload capacity with renewable sources in a balanced manner, prioritizes supply security and provides long-term predictability. While supporting system flexibility through our hybrid projects, we continue our technical, administrative and planning efforts in the storage area. At the same time, through digitalization and artificial intelligence-supported applications, we are focused on increasing efficiency and decision-making speed across all processes from production to distribution. We believe that competitive advantage in the energy sector stems not only from installed capacity, but from structures that can read data correctly, plan systems correctly and have strong operational discipline. In 2026 and beyond, we will continue our path with projects that comply with regulations, are sustainable, scalable and generate long-term value in Turkey and the geographies where we operate."
