Ahmet Yiğitbaşı Re-elected Chairman of the Paint Manufacturers Association

At the 8th Ordinary General Assembly Meeting of the Paint Manufacturers Association BOSAD, held at the Intercontinental Hotel on 25 May 2017, Ahmet Yiğitbaşı was re-elected to the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors. Following the elections held at the 8th Ordinary General Assembly of BOSAD, the sole professional organization of the Turkish paint and raw materials sector, the following were elected as regular members of the board of directors: Altuğ Akbaş, M. Akın Akçalı, Kenan Baytaş, Cemal Drahor, Mustafa Deryal, R. Şükrü Ergün, Levend Kokuludağ, Semih Kılıç, Tayfun Küçükoğlu, Erol Mizrahi, Serdar Oran, Feridun Uzunyol and Ahmet Yiğitbaşı. The following names were elected as regular members of the audit committee: Dilek Çolakoğlu, Mustafa Konya and Ersin Yıldırım. Ahmet Yiğitbaşı, who has served as Chairman of the Paint Manufacturers Association (BOSAD) since 2015 and was re-elected, stated in his closing remarks that the upcoming working period would be a new phase of advancement for BOSAD. He also noted that work would continue to make the sector an attractive center within the framework of the goal for our paint industry to become a regional production and investment hub, and said that important projects would be implemented in the coming period to promote the growth of the Turkish paint market. Ahmet Yiğitbaşı, who has served on the board of directors at BOSAD as a founding member since 2003, studied Mechanical Engineering at Aachen University of Technology (Germany). He completed his master's degree in Fuel Engineering. Born in İzmir in 1958, Yiğitbaşı began his professional career in 1987 at Union Kraftstoff in Germany and served as Deputy General Manager and General Manager at Botaş Ambalaj San. A.Ş. between 1990 and 1996. Between 1996 and 2001 he served as Vice President responsible for different business units at Yaşar Holding Paint and Chemical Group, including Automotive, Industrial and Construction Paints and Printing Inks, and served as Group President between 2001 and 2015. Since 2015 he has continued his duties as a Board Member at DYO Boya A.Ş, Toyo Matbaa Mürekkepleri A.Ş and Desa Enerji A.Ş. At Yaşar University, he served as a Member and Vice President of the Board of Trustees between 2003 and 2010 and has served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees since 2010.
