BOLTAS Builds Its Next 50 Years with Strong Investments

Boltas, a half-century brand in the logistics sector, is moving forward with confidence toward its future targets through new investment initiatives.

Boltas Board Chairman Ulaş Çobanoğlu stated that they have reached an important stage in the development and transformation process they have accelerated over the past 5 years within their defined strategic plan. Çobanoğlu said they have begun to harvest the fruits of this transformation reinforced through correct investment moves and R&D activities, stating: "Within the scope of the roadmap we have drawn for this purpose, we will consolidate our companies at home and abroad under a holding structure."

Boltas, which produces integrated solutions with its half-century experience in the logistics sector, is moving forward with confidence toward its future targets through its innovative vision and institutional initiatives. Boltas Board Chairman Ulaş Çobanoğlu drew attention to the fact that every step they have taken in the transformation process aims to prepare the company for the next 50 years.

A stronger management team

Emphasizing that within the scope of the transformation they have established strong executive committees alongside the board of directors in all their companies in Turkey and Europe, Çobanoğlu stated: "At Boltas, operations are managed entirely by a professional team and an organizational approach with an institutional perspective."

Reminding that they currently have companies in Germany, Italy, Romania and France, Çobanoğlu expressed that they view themselves as a European brand and that their visibility in Europe is quite high, stating:

"We are making the necessary investments to prepare our half-century brand for the next 50 years. We are ready to take the strongest step in our 'transformation' process. Within the scope of the roadmap we have drawn for this purpose, we will consolidate all companies under a holding structure. As Board Chairman and Executive Board Chairman, I am personally overseeing the coordination of this important process where we will bring together the operations of our organizations in Turkey and Europe under one roof. In this way, we will make our future more visible with the strength we have gained from our past and will perpetuate our corporate culture for generations to come."

"We turned market contraction into an opportunity"

Ulaş Çobanoğlu drew attention to the fact that the slowdown in global markets has also negatively affected the logistics sector, stating:

"The logistics sector is going through a difficult year, and we assess that problems may continue in part of next year. However, as Boltas, thanks to the timely moves we made, during the period when sales in the sector decreased and cash flow problems occurred, we focused on maintaining our cash position and payment balance, and we succeeded in continuing our investments in this direction.

Boltas, as a well-rooted institution of 50 years, will continue to be a pioneer in the market today as it was in the past and remain the trusted brand of advantageous logistics solutions."

"Competition in Ro-Ro services will balance the market"

Assessing positively the investment of the new Ro-Ro operator that has begun providing services on the Turkey-Italy route, Çobanoğlu stated:

"We support competition in Ro-Ro services. By implementing new agreements and investments for Italy shipments, we have begun to provide our customers with significant cost advantages. The Ambarlı-Trieste Ro-Ro service and the advantages it provides will balance the market while protecting our exporters and importers."

Will strengthen its position in Italy

Another strategic target for Boltas is to grow further in Italy, where they have dominated for many years and operate with their own employees, warehouse and office. Çobanoğlu noted that the new warehouse investments in an area close to the port that they carried out in Italy at the beginning of this year have both facilitated their own transshipment operations and provided convenience for companies in need of warehouse space in Italy. Reminding that they have a 30-year history in Italy, Çobanoğlu also conveyed that they aim to bring this warehouse to full capacity operation within the next two years and continue additional new warehouse investments.

50,000 square meter logistics-zoned land in Orhanlı

Çobanoğlu also stated that they will utilize their 50,000 square meter land in Orhanlı efficiently, saying: "We want to design this area in the most suitable way for our customers' needs. Through the right steps we will take at the right time, we are continuing our planning to implement a green warehouse investment on this land that generates its own energy with solar panels, recycles rainwater, and is environmentally friendly. We are waiting for favorable conditions to emerge and the right time to advance the project."

Emphasizing the importance they place on R&D investments, Çobanoğlu explained: "We are harvesting the fruits of both our operational infrastructure investments and our strong R&D work. We have also made the necessary applications for the completion of the certification process of our R&D unit, which has been operational for many years."

100 new vehicles acquired from DAF

Saying that they continue to improve in fleet, human resources, technology and sustainability areas, Çobanoğlu concluded his remarks as follows:

"With strong financial planning, we are renewing our fleet. We aim to reduce our carbon footprint to the lowest level. As with our other fleets in Europe, we decided to make a DAF investment for Turkey and concluded an agreement for 100 vehicles. Delivery of the first 50 vehicles was completed in August. Delivery of the remaining 50 vehicles will be completed by year-end. Additionally, our 20 vehicles with Italian plates will begin operations in that country. We are preparing ourselves for 2025, when commerce is expected to accelerate again."
