AkzoNobel and Hot Rod builder Dave Kindig unveil Modern Classikk, a new automotive paint line

AkzoNobel announced the launch of Modern Classikk, a new custom automotive paint color designed in collaboration with Dave Kindig, the main host of the popular classic "Bitchin' Rides" program. Modern Classikk will be available for sale starting January 2018. In collaboration with AkzoNobel, Kindig introduced 26 new color series at the Specialist Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show, a leading trade show for automotive specialty products. At the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, AkzoNobel and automotive artist Dave Kindig exhibited a new custom series of automotive paints at the organization where the popular show Bitchin' Rides is hosted. The photograph below shows a 1958 Lincoln Continental painted in Teal Later, one of 26 colors in the new Modern Classikk series launching in January 2018. The launch of the Modern Classikk paint brand took place approximately one year after AkzoNobel and Kindig announced their partnership. Over the past 12 months, Kindig worked closely with AkzoNobel to develop a new paint line featuring colors such as Black Hole Black™, Teal Later™ and Veruca Violet™. Kindig visited AkzoNobel's vehicle refinishing facilities in Troy, MI to connect with the AkzoNobel team and learn more about their expertise in creating groundbreaking renewed solutions.
