AkzoNobel Launches Recycled Paint

AkzoNobel becomes first major paint manufacturer to launch recyclable paint, thanks to its partnership in the UK with Veolia, a resource management specialist. The revolutionary Evolve matt emulsion, developed by the company's Dulux Trade brand, is made from waste recovered from paint cans with the aim of reducing the volume going to landfill. Now whenever any white paint is recovered, it is classified, filtered and refined by Veolia. It is then reformulated with AkzoNobel's new paint and thoroughly tested to ensure each can meets the expected high standards of Dulux Trade. The final product contains 35% recycled paint. Ruud Joosten, Operations Director at AkzoNobel, commented on the matter: "While providing our customers with fresh solutions without compromising on quality, we are constantly seeking new ways to drive sustainable innovation, reduce waste and create a circular economy for paint. By bringing Evolve to life, we will reduce the carbon footprint of our Dulux Trade products and help our customers achieve their own sustainability goals."
