Aksa Enerji Raises Installed Capacity in Uzbekistan to 1,220 MW

Aksa Enerji has begun power generation at the initial units of a natural gas combined cycle power plant completed in just 7 months in the city of Talimercan, Uzbekistan. Upon completion of the combined cycle, the company will increase its total installed capacity in Uzbekistan to 1,220 MW and move closer to its ambitious targets under the 2030 Global Strategy. 

Aksa Enerji, Turkey's largest investment company in Uzbekistan, has commissioned the first units at the Talimercan Natural Gas Combined Cycle Power Plant with 430 MW installed capacity. The units of the plant, built in a record 7 months, will generate installed capacity equivalent to 396 MW in simple cycle mode. Following completion of the combined cycle, the company's total installed capacity in Uzbekistan will rise to 1,220 MW.

The project was implemented under an agreement signed with NEGU (National Electric Grid of Uzbekistan), which is under the Uzbekistan Ministry of Energy. The natural gas requirement for the plant will be covered free of charge by the Uzbekistan Government. Electricity generated at the plant will be priced on a guaranteed capacity fee basis in USD over 25 years.
