Measures Taken Against Environmental Pollution in Adana's Karataş District

Environmental Pollution Control Measures in Adana Karataş Bacterial cultivation has begun at the Karataş Advanced Biological Treatment Facility in Adana's Karataş district. Following a 10-day bacterial cultivation period, the treatment process will commence at the facility. Zeydan Karalar, Mayor of Adana Metropolitan Municipality, who conducted inspections and oversight at the facilities, stated that the treatment facility, which will secure the district's future, will begin operations within 10 days. Karalar explained: "The team transported bacteria from the South Treatment Plant. We will cultivate bacteria here for approximately 10 days. After that, we will begin treatment. The water that emerges from treatment will become perfectly clean for use in agriculture and garden irrigation." Once the Advanced Biological Treatment Facility reaches full operational capacity, the most significant obstacle to Karataş becoming a tourism destination at the desired level will be eliminated. With the facility reaching a capacity of 17,000 cubic meters, problems causing marine and environmental pollution will be substantially reduced. Water treated at the facility can also be used in agricultural irrigation. In designing the Karataş Wastewater Treatment Facility, the Membrane Bioreactor Wastewater Treatment Process was selected to ensure the highest possible outlet water quality, given that the discharge location is in a sensitive area. As part of the treatment facility construction, 2,865 meters of collector line was also completed and implemented. Wastewater collected through sewage lines and collectors will be treated in compliance with environmental legislation and rendered harmless to the sea, soil, and atmosphere. The treated wastewater will be discharged to the receiving environment. This will prevent polluted wastewater from entering the sea. Additionally, the outlet water from the Advanced Biological Wastewater Treatment Facility can be used in agricultural irrigation. An odor removal unit prevents residents from experiencing any discomfort from the facility. Residents of Karataş, who have long struggled with both water pollution and odor problems, will now be relieved of the foul odor.
