Clariant and TURMEPA Raised Public Awareness on Sea Protection

  Clariant supported the 8th Underwater Waste Exhibition and Education Workshop hosted by Turkish Marine Environment Protection Association (TURMEPA) as the main sponsor. For the eighth consecutive year and in line with World Environment Week, the exhibition opened on 7 June with the attendance of Clariant employees and their children. Throughout the workshop, participants were informed about the importance of water and the seas, water resources worldwide and water contamination. The workshop hosted visitors between June and November 2018 in order to raise awareness of marine environment protection. With the theme of "Water's Journey", the project aimed to emphasize the importance of water resources conservation and sea protection by introducing various ways to reduce water footprint. It hosted 1,450 visitors from public and private schools, summer schools, municipalities and various other institutions and foundations. Interactive puzzle games enabled participants to learn while having fun. In the scope of the workshop, an average of 10 volunteers and TURMEPA professionals provided ninety-minute trainings and workshops for children. Participants were also able to learn about water's journey and water footprint while playing the interactive puzzle game.
