Trucks Loaded with Satsuma Mandarins Dispatched for Export

The 2024/25 export season has begun for satsuma mandarins, a natural vitamin C source against common colds during autumn and winter.
A "Satsuma Mandarin Export Season First TIR Loading Ceremony" was held in Seferihisar to mark the start of the 2024/25 export season for satsuma mandarins.
The first TIRs of the 2024 satsuma mandarin export season were dispatched to North Macedonia, Poland, Ukraine and Russia by İzmir Governor Dr. Süleyman Elban, İzmir Agriculture and Forestry Provincial Director Mustafa Şahin, and Aegean Exporters Unions Coordinator Vice Chairman and Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters Union Chairman Hayrettin Uçak.
Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters Union Chairman Hayrettin Uçak, noting that Turkey exported USD 576 million worth of mandarins in 2023, reported that following inspections and sample testing conducted by the Agriculture and Forestry Ministry in mandarin orchards in 2024, satsuma mandarins were permitted to be harvested on 14 October 2024 and exported on 18 October 2024.
We are targeting 10% growth in mandarin exports
Uçak, stating that they dispatched the first TIRs on the opening day of the satsuma mandarin export season to North Macedonia, Poland, Ukraine and the Russian Federation with the presence of İzmir Governor Dr. Süleyman Elban, said: "I wish our producers and exporters a prosperous season. On behalf of all our exporters, we thank the Governor very much for sharing in our excitement and always standing by us exporters. This season our mandarin yield is down 10%, but our product quality is suitable for export. In 2024, we are targeting 10% growth in mandarin exports."

İzmir Agriculture and Forestry Provincial Director Mustafa Şahin presented a certificate of appreciation to Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters Union Chairman Hayrettin Uçak for his support of the "Good Agricultural Practices from Production to Export" project implemented in cooperation with the İzmir Agriculture and Forestry Provincial Directorate and the Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters Union, covering 100 producers in the districts of Seferihisar, Menderes and Selçuk.
