GEBKİM MTAL to Become the 43rd R&D Center in Vocational Education
GEBKIM Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School Opens New Ground in Professional Education with Visionary ApproachDeputy Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer was the latest visitor to GEBKİM Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School. In only its second year, GEBKİM MTAL has ranked among Kocaeli's most preferred high schools and received top marks following the visit.
Deputy Minister Mahmut Özer stated that he was greatly impressed not only by the school's educational approach but also by the social and cultural opportunities provided to students. He pressed ahead for GEBKİM MTALto become an R&D Center and pledged TRY 1 million in support. Mahmut Özer began his visit by touring GEBKİM MTAL's Application and Pilot Production Facility and receiving information about the work conducted there. He inspected the school's chemistry and industrial automation laboratories and spoke with students studying there. When Özer asked the students if they had any shortcomings or requests, they replied: "We have more than enough of everything; we just want Covid-19 to end so we can return to full-time study at our school."Deputy Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer also toured GEBKİM MTAL's main school building, which features an English Street, a library, an EBA Support Center established to facilitate student internet and computer access, conference halls and sports facilities. Expressing his impression with what he saw, he pressed ahead for the school to become an R&D Center.
Deputy Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer, stating that he was deeply impressed to see a vocational high school equipped at university level for the first time, expressed his gratitude to the GEBKİM Foundation for such dedicated effort and made the following remarks: "GEBKİM MTAL is perfect in every aspect, from its laboratories to its library, from its sports hall to its dining facilities, and is an exemplary school among all Vocational and Technical Anatolian High Schools. Most importantly, the students studying here are happy. We have 42 R&D centers in vocational education across 21 provinces; we are making this our 43rd R&D Center and will provide TRY 1 million in support to our school where such valuable work is conducted. In return, we expect our teachers and students to support Intellectual and Industrial Property Rights culture, and to focus on patent, utility model, design and trademark creation and registration. We need to increase the visibility of such a successful school. We will take this school, which can serve as a role model not only for Turkey but also for Continental Europe, to an even higher level through our collective efforts." Expressing great satisfaction with Deputy Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer's visit to their school, GEBKİM Foundation Board Chairman Vefa İbrahim Aracı stated, "As the GEBKİM Foundation, we have made it our mission to bring a fresh perspective to vocational education. We mobilize all our resources so that our students can be successful individuals not only in their studies but also in their social lives. We have hosted many distinguished figures at our school and received positive feedback from all of them. The visit of Deputy Minister Mahmut Özer was very valuable to us. We received successive good news from him. I would like to thank him for the confidence he showed in our school and the support he provided. Becoming an R&D Center and receiving financial support are of great importance in terms of the projects our students have dreamed of.
