Yokeş Makina manufactures the SM Series High-Efficiency Horizontal Bead-Mills, which are next-generation horizontal wet grinding machines designed to achieve higher capacity, faster wet grinding, and finer particle sizes in shorter timeframes compared to conventional horizontal wet grinding equipment.
Due to its special design, with a small grinding chamber volume and low bead quantity, the wet grinding results achieved are superior to and obtained faster than those from conventional Bead Mills with large volumes and high bead quantities.
Thanks to the small process volume, cleaning, maintenance, product changeover, bead replacement, disk replacement and similar operations can be performed very easily. Machine downtime is significantly reduced. The quantity of cleaning agents used is considerably minimized.
The specially designed cartridge-type, dual-action mechanical seal ensures maximum shaft sealing, and seal replacement can be performed very simply and quickly. The mechanical seal cooling/washing system operates with barrier fluid circulation and is additionally water-cooled.
The internal barrier fluid pressure of the seal can be adjusted according to product pressure. All of this enables the mechanical seal to operate without problems for an extended period.
Due to the small process volume and effective cooling system, wet grinding of heat-sensitive specialty products can be easily controlled. The SM Series' small, compact structure results in significantly lower production costs and maintenance expenses. Our SM Series next-generation horizontal wet grinding machines can operate with circulation or tank-to-tank pass systems. The energy and motion required for high-capacity wet grinding is transmitted to the grinding beads through a specially designed "ROTOR-PIN SYSTEM". With the special grinding chamber design and rotor-pin system, SM-Series machines achieve the narrowest possible particle size distribution in shorter timeframes. The special design of the grinding chamber and rotor-pin system causes the beads inside the vessel to move counter to the material flow direction, enabling self-cleaning of the discharge screen and creating the most uniform product flow possible, thereby increasing wet grinding efficiency. The crushing bead motion and collisions within the grinding chamber are much faster compared to conventional horizontal bead mills. When this motion is combined with material flow in the reverse direction of bead circulation, product throughput rates and machine performance increase substantially.Additionally, bead and material motion completely independent of turbulence within the grinding chamber plays an important role in extending the service life of the crushing and grinding beads. All materials used in the machine are selected to provide maximum wear resistance and maximum component lifespan in accordance with maximum quality requirements.
Depending on the material to be ground, specific steel grades, ceramic derivatives, sintered carbide materials and high-quality stainless steel materials are used. Bead-product separation on the machine discharge side is achieved using a specially designed, high-permeability cylindrical screen. For maximum flow, the screen surface is designed to be as large as possible within machine limits. The special structure of the rotor disk and cover continuously cleans the screen surface during machine operation. When screen clogging occurs, internal screen cleaning can be performed by accessing only the front cover without opening the machine. The high-permeability screen system enables the use of crushing and grinding beads of all sizes in the wet grinding process (min. 0.1 mm) and allows achievement of the desired ultra-fine particle sizes with ease. The grinding chambers of SM Series Horizontal Bead Mills feature a very powerful helical tank wall, front cover, and internal cooling system. This cooling system is designed to provide maximum heat transfer from the grinding chamber to the cooling water. As a result, the product heating problem that arises during the high-efficiency wet grinding process has been completely eliminated. As with all our machines, the advanced PLC control system used in SM Series Horizontal Bead Mills allows all machine controls, monitoring of process parameters, and adjustment of machine limit values to be performed easily by the machine operator. During processing, operator, machine and product safety are maintained at maximum levels. The main shafts of our machines feature infinitely variable speed control. This allows operation at desired speeds to achieve the most efficient results during processing. After grinding is complete, low-speed washing can be performed to rinse the internal chamber of the machine. Our SM-Series machines can operate on a very wide range of products thanks to their extensive capacity range, modular structure, and flexibility.
