OPTIWAVE 1400: New Radar Level Transmitter for the Water and Wastewater Industry

Krohne offers OPTIWAVE 1400 FMCW radar level transmitter for water and wastewater industry. The new 24 GHz device delivers the advantages of high precision, reliability and measurement stability through FMCW radar technology at a competitive price. OPTIWAVE 1400 is designed for use at all level measurement points such as water distribution networks, water transmission lines, water storage tanks, spring waters, rivers, lakes and seas. Level measurements of wastewater, sludge or other liquids in storage applications or pump stations represent typical applications of OPTIWAVE 1400 in the wastewater industry. It can also be successfully used in applications such as level measurement in plastic tanks, flow measurement in open channels or water flood alarms. OPTIWAVE 1400 features a field-proven polypropylene (PP) drop-type antenna operating with the lowest beam angle on the market (8°). The 2-wire and 4...20 mA (HART 7) transmitter provides precise and reliable level measurement up to 20 m even under turbulent level surfaces or foam conditions. The robust stainless steel housing is rated IP68/NEMA 4X/6. OPTIWAVE 1400 requires no maintenance. Designed for simple and safe installation and operation. The new water radar level meter, supplied with reinforced cable gland and 10 m cable, also features threaded or low-pressure class flange connection and various accessory options. With these characteristics, OPTIWAVE 1400 is a powerful and cost-effective alternative compared to pulse radar or ultrasonic level meters.
