Petronet LNG Selects Novolen Technology for New Plant

Lummus Technology, a global supplier of process technologies and value-driven energy solutions, announced that it has received an award from Petronet LNG Ltd. Petronet will license Lummus's Novolen® polypropylene (PP) technology for a new 500 KTA facility in Dahej, Gujarat, India.
Romain Lemoine, Senior Vice President of Polymers and Petrochemicals at Lummus Technology, said, "This award strengthens Novolen's position in India and globally, reinforcing our status as the industry leader in high-quality polypropylene production. Our proven technology will provide Petronet LNG with various competitive advantages such as lower energy consumption, product flexibility, lower CAPEX and OPEX, and maximum financial returns over the facility's lifecycle."
Lummus's scope includes technology license for the new facility, basic engineering, training and catalyst supply.
The facility will meet India's growing polypropylene demand and strengthen local packaging and consumer goods markets. All of this is aligned with the Government of India's initiatives to boost industrial growth, create employment opportunities and promote sustainable development.
Petronet LNG will reduce dependence on imports by increasing domestic PP production and contribute to the country's economic development. The facility's construction and operation will create numerous employment opportunities, supporting the local economy and providing sustainable jobs and skilled workforce. Petronet LNG's focus on sustainability will ensure the new facility operates with minimal environmental impact in line with national and global environmental targets.
