Number of AI Startups in Türkiye Reaches 419
The Turkey Artificial Intelligence Initiative (TRAI) has published its Artificial Intelligence Startups Map covering third-quarter 2025 data. With the update, 44 new startups were added to the map while 36 were removed, bringing the total number of artificial intelligence startups in Turkey to 419.

With the update, 44 new startups were added to the map while 36 startups were removed. Turkey's total number of artificial intelligence startups thus rose to 419.
Starting with only 24 startups in 2017, Turkey's artificial intelligence ecosystem has recorded significant growth over eight years. The current map draws attention with its renewed category structure, in which startups have been reclassified according to technology types. TRAI has consolidated the map under 6 main groups and 20 categories. In the new period, particularly the Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) category has been detailed, subdivided into Conversational AI, Visual Generation and Agentic AI subcategories.
In the September 2025 update, 43% of the 44 new startups operate in GenAI technologies. In this category, Agentic AI startups hold the highest share at 25%. Core artificial intelligence technologies (29.5%) and sector-specific solutions (13.6%) rank among the other strong areas of the ecosystem. Healthcare (HealthTech), education (EdTech) and legal technologies (LegalTech) sectors also stand out in terms of startup concentration.
TRAI General Director Can Sinemli, emphasizing that Turkey's artificial intelligence scene is undergoing a qualitative transformation, stated:
"The increase in the number of startups from 24 in 2017 to 419 today represents not only quantitative growth; it also means a significant leap in specialization and technology diversity. Cutting-edge technologies such as generative artificial intelligence and Agentic AI are increasing Turkey's ecosystem's competitive power globally."
The Artificial Intelligence Startups Map, regularly updated by TRAI, serves as a strategic guide for the private sector, investors and public decision-makers. Startups wishing to be included in the map can submit their applications through TRAI's official website.
