Siemens and Evonik Announce Technology Partnership for Data Management in Comos

Siemens and Evonik are entering into a technology partnership. The partnership aims to develop an asset lifecycle data model and its integration into Siemens' software solution Comos. The asset lifecycle data model was developed by Evonik based on the international DEXPI ISO 15956 standard and other internationally recognized validity standards. The objective is to cover all elements and structures related to the chemical industry in a single integrated data model throughout the entire lifecycle, from product development and equipment planning and operations to final decommissioning. Siemens and Evonik are developing an application that provides software support for all engineering and operational processes. The result of this collaboration will become an integral part of the Comos software portfolio. The application jointly developed by Siemens and Evonik will be based on the Comos engineering platform and will use the complete Evonik data model encompassing all necessary functional features and related data scope. This also includes interfaces for inputting data generated by advanced process simulations or other process development stages. As an engineering platform, Comos offers all the possibilities required to successfully map the consistency, flexibility and functionality needed for the data model. In Comos, consistency is ensured through the object-oriented nature of the software, so that an object is defined as a plant component in any graphic or data-related description format. All relevant data sheets, lists or other documents are directly linked to the relevant object. The flexibility offered by Comos is based on its open system architecture, which allows Comos to be adapted to specific customer requirements and to be linked to third-party systems.
