Rönesans Holding was included in Engineering News-Record’s (ENR) “Top 250 International Contractors” 2026 list among the world’s largest 50 international contractors for the 11th time. The company, which has delivered more than 1,000 projects in approximately 40 countries, has reached USD 50 billion in international project revenue to date. Rönesans’s global operations also constitute an important export channel for manufacturers and subcontractor companies in Türkiye.

The “Top 250 International Contractors” 2026 list, prepared by Engineering News-Record (ENR), one of the leading references of the international construction industry, has been announced. In the ranking, which is based on companies’ construction revenues generated outside their home countries, Rönesans Holding has been included among the world’s top 50 international contractors for the 11th consecutive time.

With a global operating history spanning more than 30 years, Rönesans is currently active in more than 1,000 projects in approximately 40 countries. The revenue the company has generated from its international projects to date has reached USD 50 billion, while it maintains its strong position in various geographies, particularly in Europe.

ENR ranking demonstrates global competitiveness
ENR’s international contractors ranking takes into account the revenue companies generate from work carried out outside their home countries, rather than their overall size. In this respect, the list is regarded as one of the important indicators of companies’ capacity to undertake projects in different geographies, grow in international markets, and compete on a global scale.

Rönesans’s stable position in the ENR ranking stands out as a reflection of the company’s international growth strategy spanning more than 30 years. Having entered the list in 86th place in 2006, Rönesans has now been among the top 50 without interruption for 11 years.

USD 50 billion in international project experience
Dr. Erman Ilıcak, Honorary Chairman of Rönesans Holding, drew attention to the growth sustained despite global changes in his assessment of the company’s international journey.

Noting that over the past 11 years numerous global developments such as the pandemic, wars, the energy crisis, and changing financing conditions have presented new circumstances to the business world, Ilıcak stated that Rönesans has continued its operations by adapting to changing conditions in different markets.

Ilıcak emphasized that behind Rönesans’s presence among the world’s largest 50 international contractors for 11 years lies a culture of collaboration and problem-solving among teams working in different geographies.

Noting that USD 50 billion in international project experience constitutes an important accumulation for the company, Ilıcak thanked the employees and business partners who have contributed to Rönesans’s global operations.

USD 2 billion export impact for Turkish manufacturers
The economic impact of Rönesans’s international contracting activities is not limited to the company’s direct project revenues. International projects mobilize a broad supply chain, particularly in engineering, architecture, finance, law, logistics, technology, and construction materials.

To date, Rönesans has collaborated with approximately 3,500 companies in its international projects, including 3,000 manufacturers and 500 subcontractor firms based in Türkiye. Within the scope of these collaborations, more than USD 2 billion worth of goods and services have been carried from Türkiye to projects abroad.

While this model enables Turkish industrialists and service providers to become involved in international projects, it also contributes to construction materials, technical products, and various services produced in Türkiye reaching new markets.

To date, 28,853 Turkish employees, including 3,500 engineers and architects, have been employed in Rönesans’s international projects. The total number of employees who have worked on the projects has reached 271,888.

Thus, international contracting activities not only create project and service exports; they also contribute to carrying Türkiye’s engineering and production capacity to global markets.

Growth strategy in Europe continues
Europe holds an important place in Rönesans’s international growth strategy. The company took one of the first steps of its growth in Europe in 2009 by acquiring a 10 percent stake in Austria’s PORR.

Having expanded its operations in Europe with the acquisition of a subsidiary of the Alpine Bau group in 2013, Germany-based engineering company Heitkamp in 2014, and Netherlands-based construction company Ballast Nedam in 2015, Rönesans is now active in the continent’s major construction markets.

The restructuring carried out following Ballast Nedam’s incorporation into Rönesans, and the company’s return to profitability within three years, was also one of the examples of the group’s operational transformation capacity in Europe.

Global experience in projects requiring advanced engineering
Rönesans’s international project portfolio consists of projects requiring high engineering and technical expertise across various sectors.

The portfolio includes projects such as Lakhta Center, Europe’s tallest building; the Gotthard Base Tunnel, which runs beneath the Swiss Alps; the Gaasperdammertunnel, the Netherlands’ longest road tunnel; and a gas-to-gasoline production facility in Turkmenistan.

The experience gained in projects with different technical requirements in different countries strengthens Rönesans’s competencies in the field of international contracting, while also enabling Türkiye’s supplier ecosystem to become integrated into global projects.

Rönesans’s inclusion among the world’s largest 50 international contractors for the 11th time in the ENR 2026 list demonstrates not only the company’s long-term growth strategy in global markets but also the visibility of Turkish engineering, production capacity, and service exports in international projects.
